@Selaws That last live set for RSD, "live at Art D' Lugoff'sTop of the Gate" from Resonance doesn't sound as good as the others I've heard. It's mixed really flat and kind of lifeless.

Also trying to grab the RSD 2020 Bill Evans this year.
Ooooh well this is actually exciting because I really like the live at Art D' Lugoff's Top of the Gate, so excited to hear how Live In London sounds for sure! I have a few others on that label which I really like as well, Larry Young - Larry Young In Paris, Wynton Kelly Trio, Wes Montgomery - Smokin' In Seattle Live At The Penthouse, and Thad Jones / Mel Lewis Orchestra - All My Yesterdays.

I have just looked on RSD's website to see when the drop is and there is actually 2 coming from them. Bill Evans - Some Other Time: The Lost Session From The Black Forest (a reissue of their 2016 release) and Bob James - Once Upon A Time: The Lost 1965 New York Studio Sessions. The Bob James info sounds fascinating, I will definitely be aiming to get a copy of that as well (link to the Resonance text)

Huh, took a couple of these for peoples on Discord, no reason to not put them here although there's a couple more I could do:

SWANS {And yes, I have Children of God coming, I'm keeping my eyes peeled for White Light/Love of Life, and will get Soundtracks the second Young God makes good on the promiss to repress. Which I think will be soon, I assume they just wanted to get the To Be Kind and Filth restocks out of the way first}.:

I can’t wait for Children of God to get here! I need White Light too, not sure if I want Love of Life though. However, I was lucky enough to score a Soundtracks on the last repress!

last repress
Yeah, I heard a few more turned up ealrier this year, might've gone for it had I known but there's supposed to be a gatefold version at some point which is what I'm hoping for.

Eh, I think if I'm patient one of the boxes should turn up in the $60-$70 range, which I'd be comfortable with and while I think being an all-out Swans completionist is a fool's errand, it's managable to be a modern press completionist. And I know My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope is missing as well, but that will be available for a while. Also, no idea if you're interested but apparently Filth restocked on Young God, like, yesterday?

I have one of these boxes I'm willing to sell!

OOH HOW MUCH? And, not a big deal but US or EU?
I would do $60 + shipping. I'm US so depending on where you are it could be more

I tried selling this like 3 years ago but no one on discogs bit with that price for some reason so I removed it. I am not sure if the set I have has the CD with bonus tracks, I will have to check.

Well I certainly will. And I'm US. I've never bought off Discogs direct like that before though, so how would I...

so we may not need to. I don't have it set up right now on discogs. Discogs will take like $8 as a transaction fee. If you want, we can do it over PayPal via Friends and Family payment which removes any sort of fee. Would that work? We can take it into PM to work it out.

Also let me check to see if I have the CD, would that be a deal breaker if I don't have it?

I love this thread, thanks to @feesrevenge for setting it up.

It got me thinking though of how tricky this becomes when you consider jazz artists. The genre relies completely on musicians appearing on each other's albums, it just couldn't work otherwise. There are lots of jazz musicians that are household names but might have only released a handful of records as lead, despite being on hundreds of recordings. For example, Walter Davis Jr was a pianist that recorded with Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers (Africaine, Roots & Herbs, etc), Dizzy Gillespie (Dizzy in Greece, etc), Jackie McLean (New Soil, etc), Art Taylor (Taylor's Tenors), yet only recorded around a dozen albums as lead.

Makes me wonder is there's any other genres where this mixing of musicians is key?

Bluegrass. Always buy or listen to albums based on who’s on it. It’s similar to jazz in that lots of times you’re listening to a specific version or arrangement of well known songs.
