I also wish I had bought it but them wanting money for it kinda got in the way.
 
I grabbed the UHQR Rastaman. But have been hesitiant to post much about it. Yeah it sounds great, yeah it's a great package. But it has to be for the price. (cost me 190$CDN)

My first and probably only UHQR, I had to try it out. Love reggae, I think this is an awesome album start to finish and sounds fantastic. But honestly it feels like a VMP product, with a bunch of promotional nonsense, big box and 4x price. Definitely not a fan of this kind of product and Chad appears to me like he leads some kind of cult lol. Hate FOMO tactics to sell records.

If they ever put the Ryan K Smith Mastering onto Standard Black Vinyl (with tuff gong label) I'll be selling the UHQR. As for now however, it's probably the best sounding record I own 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s crap. But the CD is also crap.

The vinyl has better dynamics, but it’s not by any definition hugely dynamic, the CD is just compressed to hell. On the other hand the vinyl is poorly pressed and there are a few small bits where the stylus looks drunk and so get a bit of fuzzy vocals.

So I can’t recommend the vinyl, I could have if they pressed it properly, the dicks! But it mostly sounds better than the shit CD so it will do for me for my least favourite album by the band that will get spun a handful of times.
 
Annoying thing is they’re priced fairly at current exchange rate + VAT but that mental shipping then just eats away most of those savings. If it got delivered by normal Deutsche Post to An Post too at that price I’d be pretty pissed.

Edit: So he clarified the situation as it being a flat rate. So it’s €25 if I ordered 1 or 100 records. Which is fine but AP are fucking expensive, you’d need to be ordering 3 to make the shipping sane and 5 to make it a bargain.

Hate to say told you so about this guy...a newbie who invented himself as a reviewer, built a following (lemmings), connected with the players to get free records to promote with his agenda, pissing on brands like Mofi who couldn't be held to ransom, now further monetizing to become Chad's dealer in Europe.
