I was lucky enough to find a super clean original pressing but prior to that I had a Friday Music pressing (I PIFed to someone here) that sounded pretty good but my OG is amazing.Anyone got an opinion on best pressing of The Byrds - Sweetheart of the Rodeo?

I sold the Mofi Nefertiti when I bought the Japanese pressing. I agree, the Mofi sounds better, but I’m happier overall bc I found I play the 33 more, and it sounds damn good even if not at Mofi level. I had the same experience with Impex 45rpm Blow Up v the Craftman 33. The Impex is also incredible, but I pick up the Craftman 33 more and sold the Impex. This is a change for me. The 45rpm didn’t have that impact before but something changed for me.I had a listen to both yesterday Mike and the Mofi sounds better, especially drums/cymbals, they sound quite veiled on Jap pressing, it sounded a bit lifeless compared to the Mofi for me. You really hear the stick sound and the attack ! of the drum sound on the mofi, but not on my Jap copy . I was quite surprised in the difference, but it was very noticeable . But someone on SHF says the Mofi is shit compared to an early US , so what do I know ??

I’ll have to listen to them back to back since I have both. But like @Portland Sheriff said, I find myself going for 33 over 45 in many cases now.I had a listen to both yesterday Mike and the Mofi sounds better, especially drums/cymbals, they sound quite veiled on Jap pressing, it sounded a bit lifeless compared to the Mofi for me. I got the multi disc deluxe one they did for RSD some years back cause I absolutely love that record. Cut and pressed at MPO, sounds very good as per usual for them! You can sometimes sacrifice in the mastering on deluxe treatment stuff, but this one's a winner, and can be had for a reasonable price as well.Anyone got an opinion on best pressing of The Byrds - Sweetheart of the Rodeo?

Thanks! Yeah, those are the two I've got on my wantlist. Have a hard time finding this one in person, no matter the press. Appreciate the input!![]()
