Definitive Audiophile pressings

sadly it's very possible that it never shows up. i feel like thats probably one of the biggest scammer titles out there right now due to the demand.

I know it shafts new sellers unfairly but I think the best rule with the current discogs landscape is to only buy from those with many ratings.

a good rule for sure, but i got scammed by an account with 200+ 100% ratings.

set up two-factor authentication folks.
My guy had like 8 ratings that seemed legit lol and the price seemed middle of the pack price wise. It wasn't like the cheapest copy or anything.

Should I be alarmed if he generated a label within an hour of me paying the invoice? The fact that you just said you've gotten scammed with 200+ ratings has be ultra worried now.

i will say, it was easy to get my money back from paypal when i got scammed. they sided with me immediately.

i wouldn't be worried if they generated a label quickly. i tend to do that just so I don't forget...but definitely keep an eye on the progress. hope it works out for ya!

the latest scam seems to be that dormant seller accounts get hacked, someone changes the paypal account, lists a buncha stuff and cashes out. i didn't get a mailing label which prompted me to contact the seller after 5 days or so (it was over a holiday weekend so figured i would give them a little time to get it packed and shipped).

I should ask you about that one sometime. Like what pressings are decent.
see here and here. There are better versions than the MOV pressing out there, I am just tired of chasing perfection.

Man I knew you told us about this before, but damned if I remember actually participating in the conversation. I’m getting old man.

So the MOV then. Is that relatively easy to find?

They’re just about to drop the Half Speed Master. I know that series can be mixed but I quite liked what they did with the first four who albums.

I was wondering how so many scams were happening with longstanding accounts, and the hacker scenario is a very logical explanation that I hadn’t considered.

I agree about not worrying if a shipping label is created quickly. If I get an order when I’m working from home, I print labels almost immediately. And if it’s really the right time in the afternoon before the postal worker delivers my mail, I ship it almost instantly by handing it to them. I’m on good terms w/ my main postal delivery guy. I apologize for how many records I get, and he tells me it’s nothing compared to a guy a block over. And we tip him every Christmas, so that helps.
