There's a 3xLP + 7inch box set coming out in March for this record. Album, plus demos, and live material.Got Violent Femmes KPG. It kicks, it's likely Rainbo and ain't totally clean but man it sounds good.

Well, luckily I happen to have a KPG mastered copy of this album so I do not need to purchase this larger much more expensive KPG mastered copy of this album which is almost certainly pressed at MRP.Is it true what the comments here say?
That the analog masters are long gone?

Violent Femmes to Release Deluxe Reissue of their Self-Titled Album via Craft Recordings - Ghost Cult Magazine
Craft Recordings is thrilled to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Violent Femmes’ 1983 self-titled debut with a special reissue of the seminal cultghostcultmag.com
Probably. I would imagine they are using a safety/copy. Probably time for clearer language across the board. Is it true what the comments here say?

Did a deep dive and seems the original tape was thrown out when their label folded. That’s why they had to re-record the Blister in the Sun for the movie Grosse Point Blank. See here:Is it true what the comments here say?

"The original album and single discs are cut from the original analog tapes" - but not the master tapes.Probably. I would imagine they are using a safety/copy. Probably time for clearer language across the board.
Safeties are generally kept somewhere other than the master. Otherwise there’s not much of a point. So the master gets tossed in the garbage but the safety survives? How that work
If they literally threw out the masters when they folded, I'd love to know where they kept the safety. Somebody's closet? Bottom of a dumpster?Safeties are generally kept somewhere other than the master. Otherwise there’s not much of a point.

Assholes.
I ordered the EU so will keep ya posted…Well, I broke down and preordered The Smile's new record. Reviews are rolling in for the US pressing. Guess I'm prepared for disappointment again from MRP.

Euro pressings also have mixed reviews. Non-fill issues. Guess, I better just buy the damn CD
