Also isn’t this an album that’s had like a zillion really nice pressings over the last 5 or so years?

Think it’s really had like 4 or 5 (not including like EU vs US put out at the same time). They all sound good because it’s a well-recorded album. OG, Classic Records, VMP and 25th anniversary.

Chad is actually probably using the classic records parts. This one’s my actual worst nightmare:

Yeah that’s outrageous. A 3 minute song on a side on its own!

From the period of classic records preying on audiophile nervousa and claiming that single sided 45s were the best way to listen to an album

Not really, you’d lose the benefits of going the extra yard for 45. It’s really 10-12, 13 max, for a 45 if you’re doing it properly. And then if you get a longer song it can throw the side arrangements because you have less time to play with. 4LPs for 60 mins sounds gratuitous though.

Yes but chad is releasing it over 4LPs, not 3, it’s two extra discs. 60/8 is an average of 7.5 mins a side. Thats gratuitous.
