Definitive Audiophile pressings

This is a good decision. And I urge all people with a VMP (or other) version to not buy the craft one!
All good things must end. You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
Now I'm conflicted. I liked the logic of being able to flip the VMP copy to recuperate my expenses, felt like a free upgrade in my mind :ROFLMAO:.

Was last night just another case of Night Mather getting a hold of the internet?

Just look at the stupid sale prices for Lush Life on cogs. The flippers will be out in full force now. It's gunna be a mess.

the difference is that A) there was no preannouncement and B) there were no other pressings in the series at that point. The fact that these are priced at $400+ on the secondhand market means that flippers are gonna be circling these even more than last time too and there is greater awareness of the releases. It's not as popular a title but i'd bet almost anything that the site crashes and this is more like trying to get the Bowie Brilliant Adventures releases or something.

The good thing is that they said future pressings will have larger numbers. The first 2 have just been in production for well over a year.
Oh completely agree with you both, like I said after the first was dropped and sold out I had tons of messages from people wishing they had more notice. I completely expect this one to be more of a free for all compared with the last.

Funnily enough, I actually cancelled my first order of Lush Life as I bought through the US site. Still had time to have the cancellation email and jump over to the UK store and place the order.

Well I was saying that as a jest, with the logic that I have more chance of getting one, but really people should do as they like. You can always buy the OS and sell the the VMP if that is a significant improvement.

Well, it was a thought. To sell it. But in order to do so I'd have to create a international seller account on Cogs, figure out the insane shipping logic on there, deal with dickhead buyers, determine how to ship/insurance and now I've turned off my phone and buried it in the backyard. Because that's how much I want to deal with that stuff.

Done. I don’t wanna pay $100 for an album. I am a budget audiophile; the $23 I paid for the VMP release is fine. If I didn’t have a copy that I was happy with I would consider it...but yeah, I feel dirty when I repurchase albums especially ones that already sound pretty great. I cried in my shower for hours after buying the the MoFi of Blues For Allah (it does sound quite a bit better though).

Let me get this straight. Are you saying you only have two copies/versions of Blues For Allah?
Yeah POG, I only have two but will likely move on from my Rhino copy soon. I have a few duplicates but overall I try to keep each album to single copy. I do appreciate your zeal for multiples as you are great resource when comparing multiple releases in trying to buy the best pressing. You buy multiples so I don’t have to. 😀
