Definitive Audiophile pressings

Lol I was about to post this.

I have the Muddy and Trinity. Both superb!

Isn't a MOFI supposed to put out a one step of Folk Singer?

Honestly, for the price difference is grab the AP and never look back.
Agreed they're both fantastic, I only have the 33 Folk Singer but it's so good I don't think I need the 45.

I'm still blown away by Trinity Session and the fact that it was recorded with the whole band huddled around a single mic hooked up to a Betamax video cassette deck connected to a digital/analog converter. Bonkers.

Anyone got opinions on recent pressings of Roxy Music's first 3 or 4 records? Looks like all the recent presses were Abbey Road 1/2 speeds, but all pressed at GZ. Before that, the last round (2009ish) were pressed at Rainbo. I might need to go for OGs instead.

The most recent clear self titled was pretty good, but was the Stephen Wilson mix. So I’m assuming the half speeds are all pretty good too. I’m not sure any release sounds fantastic for the debut though. I had a US white label promo and the Stephen Wilson sounded better to me. It includes Virginia Plain that the original UK release did not have. Otherwise, if you want original pressings, I think OG pink rim islands are pretty well received. I have pink rims for For Your Pleasure, Stranded and Country Life and they all sound great. A handful were cut by George Piros in the US and can be had for quite cheap too. I had the censored cover Country Life cut by him for a long time and it was good. Their best sounding album is Avalon though. That one gets audiophile level.
