I have this one on backorder actually. it was one of the titles I decided to buy before the price hike. Was hoping it wouldn't be pressed that quickly!August and Everything After 45 is back. I feel like people here were raving about it?

This goes back a while, but I’m resurrecting bc I just bought this 1982 Japanese press of Bowie/Ziggy based on your recommendation, and my copy is amazing. Dead silent and, to my ears, sounds great. Fwiw, I paid $45 and bought from Ella Records, rated NM/M-, but no obi (I don’t care about that). Shipping was an additional $7.50 (avg price for 5 records). This is the Japanese copy I got, which sounds great. reasonable priced copies come up from time to time

Congrats!!!Just landed a big new job and to celebrate I’m going to treat myself to some AP pressings. Thinking:
- Miles Davis UHQR
- Ella Fitzgerald - Like Someone in Love
- Duke Ellington + Johnny Hodges - Back to Back
- Ben Webster meets Oscar Peterson
- JJ Cale - Troubador
Anyone else have some favorite jazz pressings from AP that are essentials?

I have that first Billie one and I agree, it’s absurdly fun to listen to and sounds GLORIOUS. These are all great recommendations! The Ella arrangements are a bit too sleepy for me and I love Ella
Billie Holiday Songs for Distingue Lovers, All Or Nothing At All (both swing like mad!)
Mulligan Meets Webster (aver not bad either though)
Helen Merrill
Sarah Vaughn
Ellington Masterpieces
Tennessee Ernie Ford Country Hits (stunning)
Nat King Cole titles

Why do I keep putting this one off ? Shame on me.Herbie - Head Hunters
I actually don't have the 45 Head Hunters, and the only reason is that the 33 is absolutely INSANE. So I haven't bothered to get it, but it's stunning. You gotta do it.OOP unfortunately now, worth it alone for Billie, but do hope Chad represses one day.

Definitely the AP of We Get Requests, though I think that might be part of the Verve AS reissue series, Duke Ellington’s Masterpieces, Head Hunters. Wynton Kelly’s Smokin at the Blue Note is fantastic as well. Ike Quebec’s Blue and Sentimental is absolutely fantastic as well though oop. Actually all the Blue Notes I’ve gotten are fantastic but I think everything is oop now.Just landed a big new job and to celebrate I’m going to treat myself to some AP pressings. Thinking:
