Definitive Audiophile pressings

For any Blake Mills fans, just picked up this one:

cut by Bernie and sounds awesome. I think it's pressed at MPO but mine is flat and really quiet.

Paging @Joe Mac

*ducks for cover*

But does he like the Eagles?

This video is kinda weird, right? His argument seems to be you that people should buy these $125+ albums because it made the albums tolerable. He may have been better served having someone who enjoys The Eagles reviewing these releases.

I'm baffled as to why one would buy an album, at any price, by an artist that one does not like.

I guess this is probably content for his Youtube business, but the wall of records behind him belies that analysis.

From what I gather, MiketheowneroftheInGrooveinPhoenixArizona is a bit obsessive about collecting. He often talks about owning a lot of records that he doesn’t like but hold value. He also talks a lot about how he thinks the vinyl market is also still very undervalued, and that years down the road today’s prices will seem minute. I’m thinking he owns them simply because he owns all of the One Steps (he brags about having 5 Abraxis One Steps anytime they’re discussed) and he thinks they’ll all be very valuable one day. And it’s good content for his channel.

Then he’s everything I hate about this hobby encapsulated in a single meat sack. I have my nemesis…

😂😂😂

Not sure this is a completely appropriate place to post this, but it looks like Acoustic Sounds has begun posting some reasonably priced items from the "Topper Collection" on discogs. Some interesting stuff so far; thought some here might want to check it out:

I get collecting and everyone has a different opinion on this hobby; however, my opinion is fuck that shit so much.

Heh heh, went through the list, first grabbed Dylan - Basement Tapes, Stones - Through the Past Darkly, Laurie Anderson’s Mister Hearbteak and Home of the Brave for $75. Went to check out, but got a page saying there was a problem, so I figured someone snagged them. Oh well, so went through again, found New Morning and Before the Flood, threw in one by The Alarm so I could get free shipping, total $55, and again problem with order. Saw I had 2 new messages, they were both invoices for the orders. So apparently I just spent $130 for all of them. I mean, good deal, but I wish I didn’t get the error message. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Thank you for not grabbing The Alarm item that I was looking at! Probably won’t pull the trigger unless I’m compelled by something else that would get me to $50, but The Alarm was not high on my list of bands I’d have expected to see here, especially in the context of the other records you mentioned!!

Yeah, I grabbed Standards for $10. Saw they had Strength too, but picture disc. Figured it was worth an extra $5 to have Spirit of ‘76 on wax.

Speaking of Boom Boom alerts, I ordered Sufjan Stevens - Illinois from Plaid Room recently and it was a Boom Boom cut.
