Definitive Audiophile pressings

Closing out on Miles in Tokyo...until the next one arrives:

on a second spin: the recording is better than average on the MOV and I have certainly had worse. Miles is captured well. I'll also (no surprise) try the Japanese pressing. The sense of space, other instruments, hall, balance, etc feels like there could be more.

I have now made multiple postings on about a record. I am an expert.

You're not really an 'internet expert' until you start posting about records you've never even heard.

Is there a reissue worth grabbing of this?

I have the Pure Pleasure. It's all analog, It was "only" like $35 on acoustic sounds when I got it. Since it's a compilation, it's inconsistent in SQ — some tracks sound great, some sound pretty rough. Fantastic pressing quality though, Pallas and all. There is a new P-Vine Japanese reissue in my wishlist, but I haven't had the urge to drop $60 on it yet, and I would probably rather have a VG vintage copy instead, almost for sure sounds better and more natural/organic than these pricy reissues that sound just okay.

Ya, debating going with an OG that's not beat to snot, that's kind of why I'm asking about the re-issues.

Thanks

Those of you that have had success with Karl…. Was he slow as hell to respond?! And to get an invoice out?
The secret is out about Karl. Took me a few days to get an invoice last time after speaking with him on the phone. Then a week or more to get shipping notice I think. He definitely doesn’t work overtime or weekends.

Trust in Karl.

Hey any of y'all have Royksopp Melody A.M.? I think it's just been repressed maybe possibly, wondering how the vinyl sounds.

Yeah I have a copy. It sounds pretty good overall. My copy has no pressing issues. The sequencing of the tracks is different from the CD though, and I think the CD order was better. That said, I've only played it from the vinyl for the last few years though so I'm getting used to it this way.

It's pretty expensive now though isn't it? Or is it getting repressed again?

It's showing up in the UK stores right now so I THINK it's been repressed. Nothing over here yet though...

For those of us Marley casuals (I mean who could actually hate this man's music?), which budget friendly pressings do you recommend?

I grabbed the 2015 made in Netherlands pressings. They sound pretty good to me. They aren’t AAA but still enjoyable to listen to. Cheaper than the half speeds. I think they are $25 each, aside from the doubles.
