Discogs - Help, Tricks, Secrets And Tips

There’s no way to manually edit the “Date Added” field for albums in your collection, right?

I recently caught up on logging all my records in Discogs that I’ve bought over the past few years, so the date added is April 2025 for most of them now. Not a big deal, but I spent wayyyy too much time going back through my emails to find the dates that I purchased them and wrote those dates in the notes, so it would be nice to get rid of those notes and just have it reflected in the date added field.
You can create a custom field but it is not searchable within the app or website.

Nope - I've been asking for this to be something we can edit for years. A "date added" should always be when you added it to your collection, i.e bought it, not when you added the release to your discogs collection.

Could some of y'all with votes please help with a Merge...

I created the new listing under David P. Smith (2) because that's what he was credited as on a compilation, but it turns out that was miscredited. My entry has more detailed information in every aspect except Cat. No. - which there is no indication of anywhere on the release so, while I can infer where dps06 would come from as a Cat. No. I have no means to verify it.

Thanks.

**There are a lot of great local artists here in Victoria that are underrepresented, or miscredited, on the 'cogs and I'm slowly trying to tighten things up, but it's been harder than I'd like since I no longer have the majority of the CDs that are missing or have incorrect credits.
