I just wondered if a v1 could use it fine

Like if I got the 8mz would I have to move from a black 1 to V2 or V3
I think the 8mz has been around since the 1s. I just think you'd be missing out on the improvements of the 3. (I believe I was asked if I had a 3 because it would have made more sense to get the Gold3 cartridge than to just get the 8mz stylus).

The 8mz predates the prestige 1, I think they were initially from the old Joseph Grado signature line, and it fits it same as the 2 and 3. There will obviously be further benefits from the the cartridge improvements on the 2 and 3 that will unlock more of the 8mz’s potential.

I'm thinking I'm gonna go Opus if and when I go for a 3rd gen Grado. That installs with screws only through the top, correct? No nuts to thread? I'm spoiled on the Grado/VPI, that's one of the improvements they made.

This is correct. The Grado Signature series goes back to the ‘80s. The improvements are actually returning to the Signature specs, at least the 2 and 3 series. The Prestige and Prestige 1 were different. The Prestige didn’t sound good or track well.

Also has anyone heard, or heard feedback on, the new Nagaoka cartridges?

The JT80. Cart is same for both styli, the black is top of the range and blue bottom.

Is really ugly (well the blue is, the black is a bit better because blends) but I wonder how it sounds!

Interesting, I've researching a mid $250 AT cart to try at some point, we might need to add one of these to the list if one is in that price range.
