So my buddies brother just had his 3050 delivered and I gotta say, that vinyl wrap wood looks damn real. If you get right in there on the reflection you can actually see the raised grain. Nice job by NAD here from the looks of it.

Yes the wrap is textured so it will look like grain, unless you get up real close and notice it is a repeating pattern.

PLX-1000 is here and... the MP110's pins are too small for the bloody headshell! I'm seeing this as a sign to splurge on another cartridge, is the AT-VM95ML still regarded as the king for that sort of budget?

The clamps on the headshell can be (gently) resized with pliers.

Helps to have a toothpick or something to put in there so you don't inadvertently crush them flat.

Um, I broke down the old amp…. I need to dust up there (being on top of the kallax) more often. Also the Sony feels like a toy compared to the NAD

Prettiest NAD unit I’ve ever seen. A rare occasion where their ‘look’ matches what they offer. I’ve never been put off by NAD’s approach to visual aesthetic, but this is sweet.

Most noticeable difference so far is … it is dead silent. The Sony had a faint hiss if you turned the volume up, especially with the turntable. Dead quiet unless there is music playing. That’s paying forth in spades so far.

I know you probably didn’t buy strictly for aesthetics but it looks fantastic.
