splatoon 3 announcement seems so out of left-field. i was under the impression that the splatoon fanbase is fine with splatoon 2, so seems kind of random that this is going to come out on switch as opposed to the next console.
As a launch title, Splatoon 2 was what made the Switch an absolute necessity for me. When the trailer started and the train appeared, I honestly thought it was going to be another expansion because the Octo expansion was so train-based, but when the 3 logo dropped, I lost my shit. With Switch recently hitting the "middle" of its life cycle, according to Nintendo, I'm just happy to NOT have to wait for the next console to get some fresh splat fantasy.

ahh, i see!! yea, it just seemed to me like this was a smash situation where it's just usually one game per console, and i thought that was how splatoon fans saw their game. cool to know that that's not really the case

I know this isn't the usual place for this but I recently broke out my old Wii and Gamecube from storage and found out all my Gamecube controllers must have been left at a college apartment a decade ago.

If anyone has some OG Gamecube controllers sitting around that they'd be willing to part with at a fair price I would be happy to give them a new home.

Figured I'd try here before I go the eBay route...
YMMV based on a few of the reviews, but you might be able to get a brand new, Nintendo-made controller for a good $40. I have a pair from when they did a production run for Smash for Wii U and they're wonderful.

Amazon product ASIN B07HC2F97Q

PLUS they have a 10-ft cord (at least the Smash Wii U ones did), which is an added bonus over OGs.

im about to get this for myself now, thank you!!!

I've only ever played about 5 hours of WW, so I don't have any skin in the game on this. BoTW is on my backlog list though...

I played WW when it first came out and it didn't click with me. I then got it WiiU and it became one of my top 5 Zelda games.

Also that list is bunk Majora's Mask is middle of the pack at best. Timed missions suck.

I find that the LoZ that hit at the right time when you were a kid is always a person's favorite.

That being said, WW is the best one.

Goddammit, am I about to hook my Wii U back up
If it doesn't come to Switch anytime soon I'm going to have to track down my Wind Waker gamecube disc at my parents house (whenever that can happen again lol). I have my gamecube with me but only have Super Smash Bros. Melee.

There is still some rumbling its coming to switch this year.

Would be nice, Nintendo's 2nd half of 2021 is alarmingly barren. Even though I'm sure they'll still be overpriced. I haven't played TP in a VERY long time.

The revision of history that Majora's Mask is a top tier (or even best) Zelda game has slowly driven me insane over the past 20 years.

Nintendo's gotten into the swing of announcing games only a few months before they release. There will be plenty of stuff announced for the 2nd half, but not until early summer.

MM is undoubtedly the most ambitious Zelda from a storytelling and atmosphere perspective, and I think people get caught up in that and forget about the messy game design.
