A couple in from Amazon. Ken Vandermark who plays with one of my hot favourite forum finds, Made to Break (thanks @Colonel_Angus) joins Turkish collective, Konstrukt here. Ken has such a distinctive sound, really great. And Nat Birchall from last year that I only just got around to picking up.

Great haul again!

That Elysian Spring is fantastic. If Music have an original copy in their store. I was considering listening to it on their deck but its priced at over £2k......so thought I best pass on that one :ROFLMAO:

I think I saw this record originally posted on the pre-order thread here, but had almost forgotten I ordered this until I got my shipping notification the other day. Been listening to this record a bunch lately and glad to be able to spin it now!

Both arrived with damaged sleeves and the record surface on Art Blakey looks weird but VMP is hooking me up with replacements. Don't know if it's just the sleeves or brand new copies, he failed to mention that but I guess I'll find out in a few weeks.

Is your Blakey album super cloudy? Mine looks like that and even though it plays fine I'm tempted to ask for a replacement...

Yeah, it starts as black vinyl and then it becomes this faded looking vinyl with markings on it. I tested it a little bit on Side A and sounded great (don't know if there's some background noice) but it looks like ass haha

Well, I guess it was bound to happen. The streak is over, found this "Like New" copy of The Zombies ‎– Odessey And Oracle, 2013 Half Speed Mastered UK pressing in the Amazon Warehouse for $10..........where is the fucking common sense?

So I'm sure it was in New condition when it left the warehouse, looks to have started off completely sealed in the cello, but the album split the top pretty good. I bitched to Amazon CS before opening it, asked if I could get a replacement, which he couldn't offer (and they were OOS), but they did offer a full refund or a 50% refund if I wanted to keep it............I told him to hold because I wanted to check the vinyl first. So fortunately, the album itself was fine, so we took the 50% and called it a day. I can now share the aggravation others have felt with this same issue. I just don't understand how this happen, do they ship light bulbs like this too, lol ?

Same exact thing happened to me with an amazon warehouse Courtney Barnett album. It was marked new and somebody just slapped a shipping label right on it and threw it in the mail. The sleeve was dented but vinyl ended up being fine. It's why I rarely order from warehouse though...it's a total crap shoot. That's still not a bad get for $5.

For $5 I can live with a split top, but I've ordered at least a dozen other warehouse albums, always in a box, not always with bubble wrap, but in a box. This was a first for me. I found it funny that the guys tells me that he's submitted a complaint to the shipping department and other parties and "...........I guarantee it will never happen again" 😜

I have sadly gotten the shipping label directly on a record too many times...Every few months, I get a record shipped to me in some brand new level of absolutely mental packaging. The weirdest was a few years back I ordered an Arcade Fire record from Guitar Center of all places because they had pricing errors and it was $7 with free shipping to their store. I could walk to a Guitar Center from my old apartment so I figured why not? Went in to pick it up when it was ready and the guy comes from the back with a box that was almost too big for him to carry. I was sure that the record wasn't for me but it had my name on it...so I went outside of the store and opened it. The box had the album thrown inside with a strip of bubble wrap that wasn't even as big as the record hah. Somehow it was completely fine but it was still mind-boggling.

So I got up early and traveled over an hour and a half on the bus today to a record fair. Got there and it’s completely dead, lights off etc. I rang the organiser (had his number of a flyer for the event) and he said the council had cancelled it and he has to find a new venue. There wasn’t anything about the cancellation on the website or social media so there was a few of us that turned up to find it closed. Very annoying.

On the plus side I popped into one of the local shops and managed to get this for a great price.

Chet Baker - Cold Trumpet/Tromba Fredda (Moochin’ About, 2019 RSD 10” release)
