Fresh Grabs

Stockholm is probably my favourite European city for record shopping (aside from Paris for African music) so a visit there is always dangerous.

Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock, Jack DeJohnette - Still Live
Keith Jarrett - Standards Live
John Coltrane - Impressions
Charlie Parker - Anthology
Black Flower - Intermediate State
Placebo - Live 1971

Recordmania is one of my favourite shops with a decent jazz offering, as well as some hip hop, soul, Afro etc (my beloved Superfly Records in Paris have said they modelled themselves partly on it). Six fantastic jazz grabs from them, topped by Keith Jarrett via the enthusiasm for it of @agutierrezb. Also more Coltrane, some Bird on vinyl, and some fab Belgian jazz past and present.

Miles Davis - At Fillmore
Miles Davis - In Concert
Kenny Burrell & John Coltrane

Nostalgipalatset is more of a general shop but possibly the one I return to most in Stockholm and it gave up yet more jazz goodies today. Miles #44 and #45 for me, and from one of my favourite eras of him (1970 and 1973 concerts). And not sure if this is the same Burrell & Coltrane release as @Selaws grabbed but it looks great - 2 LPs including their LP together and another one where they played together. Hoping I've got the house to myself tomorrow in the day!

WOW! Amazing haul, just incredible! Looks like sides A & B of the Burrell/Coltrane are the same as the album I have (just with the track listing switched up) then C & D is additional material from another session. Very cool stuff, I bet its a great one to listen to!

I actually think I ordered it and it shipped before the announcement email. I was just browsing their site and saw it. Only thing I’m kind of bummed about is the most recent email said it (and all new 2020 7s) would have the new custom sleeve.

I did too, and then I realized It's a Wick and not a Daptone release. So I think it makes sense now.

Alabaster DePlume - To Cy & Lee: Instrumentals, Vol. 1
Nujabes - Metaphorical Music

Two nice releases. Both sound great!

The Kinks - Arthur or The Decline and Fall of The British Empire
Bruce Springsteen - We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions

These are some random pickups I have been eyeing the Kinks remaster since it’s release and was happy the price recently dropped under $20. The Springsteen is great, probably my favorite record of his since the Late 1980s it is fun to see him spread his wings on this collection.

A few 180g releases. They currently have two series, the first is dedicated to today's Japanese music in all genres (Videotapemusic's music is electronic/ambiant, Ajate is afrobeat played with traditional instruments, Naoito's is afrobeat as well). Second serie is a collaboration with Disk Union, famous Japanese shop, and is dedicated to today's Brazilian music.

VIDEOTAPEMUSIC ‎– Souvenir (Videotapemusic is a young music and video producer from Tokyo who uses old Japanese and Asian VHS tapes collected in dusty recycle shops and closed rental video stores as raw material for his sampling work and video production)
Ajate ‎– Alo (Ajate consists of 10 Japanese musicians who play a unique blend of afro-groove dance music mixed with Japanese traditional festival music)

Leonardo Marques ‎– Early Bird (Early Bird is a beautiful album from contemporary Brazil blending soft pop, indie folk, sixties psychedelia, lo-fi and flavors of the Brazilian Clube da Esquina)
Xenia França ‎– Xenia (On her first album, Xenia pays tribute to the sounds of the black diaspora, masterfully blending soul music with jazz, samba, r&b and electronic flavors)
Moons ‎– Thinking Out Loud (This music, played by a sextet from Belo Horizonte, is for fans of Nick Drake, Lou Reed, Bon Iver)

Really excited about this one. This has been my favourite soundtrack (and movie) since I first heard it around 2011. Similar to the Day of the Dead compilation did for me for the Grateful Dead, hearing some of my favourite artists -- like Jim James, Iron & Wine, Cat Power, and Calexico -- cover Dylan has helped me find a deeper appreciation for a lot of these tunes. Had a gift card lying around and found the MOV version on an eBay shop in England for about $45 shipped to Canada and couldn't pass it up. A bit of a crease on the outer box but nothing I can't live with.
