Cheers to the Def Audio thread nerds for churning about this one....first, like all IR release I've gotten, it's superb. Second, this album would've never been on my RADAR otherwise. Great fucking music.

Somehow this album was the one gap in Nick Cave's discog I had for my collection. Butt fuck it we all make mistakes. Shit happens. Remedied!

that Gene Clark is in the mail to me right now! Amped for it. It's gonna be the last pressing of it done at RTI i believe. all IR will be pressed at Gotta Groove from now on (they are also solid).

Oh it's good! I'd never heard the album and y'all were going on about it. I gave the first track a spin on YouTube the other day and was convinced. Pulled the trigger with Acoustic Sounds (decided to tag team w/ the Cave album and one of the only places I could find that had both in stock). Front to back just good, well-crafted songs. And, like I said, pressed to the high standards I've found with IR releases. Really happy with it!

Tender Prey tour was the first time I saw Nick perform live.
WIth Kid Congo and Blixa in the band, and the Wolfgang Press opened... that was a killer show in NYC.

Record City order, including one US pressing for good measure. I saw that the Burrell will be released in November as a Tone Poet, but I think I'll be happy with this '79 mono pressing. The Wishbone Ash is classic melodic, guitar-driven rock from the 70s. Nantucket Sleighride is a title I just collect multiple pressings of for some reason. And the Lucky Thompson has a fun groove to it.

I got my wristband for the paramore listening party. It’s at one of the other shops in town and it’s a trek for me to get there.

This one is closer to my work so I should try to swing by there more on non work days when I’m not planning a trip.

A bumper British Jazz bundle! The Rendell and Moholo are 2 that I have been wanting for ages and finally managed to snag them at a great price. The Beckett has been haunting me on Discogs for months (one seller has a sleeveless one that he/she is trying to sell for way too much, and updates daily so it always appears in my emails!!) but persistence paid off on this copy. The Collier also features Beckett, and is actually the accompanying album to a book that the bassist released. Finally, a decent 7" of early Harriott.

Carl Perkins – Introducing... (Dootone Records, 1956 First Mono Pressing)

This was an exciting score. I have been hoping to find a copy of this for literally years but it's just not that common here in the UK. Perkins had polio which affected his arm and led him to play sideways, which is pretty unique! This is the only album that the he recorded as lead.

Well, this was an absolute blinder of a score. 4 years ago I read about an incredible set of 5 records that contained private recordings of John Coltrane and Eric Dolphy performing in Sweden during 1961-1963. They contain some incredible live renditions of Coltrane's best tracks, in an environment where the group knew they were appreciated, and as a result they play amazingly! They were released on mail order only, with plain coloured sleeves and plain labels. The only written information was typed sheets that briefly described the performances, and included tracklists. There were 5 releases with each being a different coloured sleeves. Weirdly, the catalogue numbering skips "4" so I wonder if they had another lined up that didn't make the cut. Anyway, these records are typically quite rare and although there is no real information regarding the numbers, I have seen one account that it was only a pressing run of around 100 per album. I managed to swoop these up in one go which I cant quite believe, so its been a real thrill to listen to them!

That Moholo is one of my favourite pick ups in the last few years, so goood.
