All the stuff I got since my last post...
First off a bunch of stuff I didn't post from around the holidays
Van Halen S/T mofi - I had completely forgot I had ordered this, it was so long ago. But it was finally released and Paladin Vinyl came through a bit before xmas. It's... not bad. Good clean pressing, nice instrument separation, sounds good, but my opinion is not made up yet.
Prince Diamonds & Pearls deluxe - present I got for myself, I really like the packaging, the pressing, A+ all around.
Willie J Healy Bunny - Late 2023 discovery, some nice electro-soul with yacht rock vibes, good pressing.
Co-Pilot Rotate - Another late 2023 discovery I had to pick up - some serious Stereolab vibes on this. Pressing is nice too.
Random different orders
Janelle Monae The Electric Lady - Atlantic 75 clear vinyl version, a bit quiet but sounds excellent, vinyl is crackly in the opening on some sides, but acceptable - this is my second copy, other was way worse.
Ryan Davis & The Roadhouse Band Dancing On The Edge - Was introduced to this in the vinyl spin challenge thread back in December, really liked it and decided to get a copy. Some indie country rock with epic songs. Very nice pressing too.
Tom Waits Swordfishtrombone & Franks Wild Years - both obtained on sale after xmas, was hoping for upgrades on the copies I had (2009 europe pressing of Swordfish that's meh and original german pressing of Franks that's beat up), and these are definitely it. My copies are good and I'm happy with these remasters.
The VMP January order
Black Sabbath Masters of Reality - I know there's some debate, but I'm happy with this. Probably my final copy.
Madlib Shades of Blue - got this (on sale) even though I have the Blue Note Classics, because the mastering for this one was said to be different and more "hip-hop", but in the end I think I prefer the openness, adequate bass and crisp highs of the KPG Classics.
The Rapture Echoes - got the VMP version in the hope that it's an upgrade on my very noisy original pressing and it is. Not sure if there's a new lacquer since both versions are sequenced the same, but the VMP is definitely cleaner and as a result sounds fantastic.
Warner Canada Rhino High-Fidelity order
Television S/T - Lots have been said in the definitive audiophile thread, upshot is I like it and it's very crankable.
Doobie Brothers The Captain & Me - one of those records I didn't think I needed, but I added to my order. But the pressing, mastering, everything about this is amazing. A great listen.
Ornette Coleman Change of The Century - added this KPG high-fidelity to the order as well and I'm really glad. Another fantastic pressing.
