Any ideas when this is due to land? They’re amongst my favourite books of that genre and that film, well the less said the better!
 
My thoughts:

When Tyrion suggested Bran, the exact words I said were: I AM PISSED!

Why was Brienne finishing Jamie's entry and not STARTING HER OWN AS THE FIRST WOMAN KNIGHT??

Why was Bronne at the table, like, yeah, all is forgiven?? He conspired with CERSEI to kill Tyrion. And we don't get to see how that was forgiven?

Are we to believe that Jon, who always made the right decision and acted in a good way, would all of a sudden forget all of his moral compass and abandon his post to go live with the wildlings?

This season: The cinematography, the special effects, the set design, the score - all were FANFUCKINGTASTIC. The story/character development was not at all good.

That’s because they CANT ACT! The two of them have been an utter disgrace all season...
 
I feel like I'm in the minority who thought this season was just fine. I didn't really know what to expect, but I enjoyed it all thoroughly. It wasn't clear to me if Jon was abandoning his post at Castle Black (why is that even necessary anyway?) or going out on a ranger patrol (also though, why?).
 
The parts that redeemed the season for me:

Ghost, the goodestboi, finally getting love from Jon.

Sansa telling her uncle to sit down and then when he didn't, her look. BEST!!!!!

Arya and Jon's goodbye. I shed a tear.

Lyanna should have been in the finale to tell all of them off. Can you imagine her sitting there when they chose Bran? Missed opportunity for shade. And then she should have had a seat at the table to ask everyone if they have lost their damn minds for letting Bronne join them.

Bronn was given Highgarden so he's happy. Tryrion and Bronn have enough history that he knows what it was all about (money, not personal).

Though I will say hurriedly laying out that it had been weeks since the stabbing to Sansa/Bran's arrival was especially egregious. I would have loved to have 1 episode at least to let that moment sink in and get some character reactions, including an explanation for why Jon Snow wasn't just immediately rage-murdered by Greyworm/others after his unconditional heel turn for Dany. It seemed that all of 3 people in the city were against Dany at that point. These moments in particular are where the books will enhance the TV moments if/when it is released.

One question I had was how did they know Jon killed, he would have had to confess, otherwise she could have just flown off to do something

I liked him and I haven't read the books but he was underused in the show, a little bit like Tyrion in the last seasons in my opinion

Exactly. Wasn't as if they were left with a body to deal with. Unless Drogon flew her to the army which I don't know why he'd be smart enough to do that. And if he did do that there would be an instant mutiny. Regardless, that's a whole episode worth of material right there.

I liked most of how it all went down, and I never guessed Bran would end up on the throne. I loved Arya's ending too...she seemed out of place back home.

I don't think it's ridiculous that Jon didn't take the throne and rule, even with his heritage. He never wanted it. Now he can go hang with the free-folk and make babies. Maybe Ygritte has a sister. Although I had a brief fun thought that Drogon would take him where he took Dany and we'd find an entire island of dragon eggs. (Didn't Drogon disappear for most of a season?) Then we could have Dragon Island - A Song of Fire and More Fire

Who loved The Sopranos ending? Or Seinfeld? Not 100% that's for sure...so no matter what, there was going to be a percentage of detractors. It's hard to say goodbye to a show you love. But wow, some people are pissed. I saw a Redditor that said he just wasted 8 years of his life. That's just.......silly.

I loved the soprano ending. Breaking bad too. Think my favourite most perfect TV show ending was The Shield though. GOT finale was so bad for me it's a shame

Sorry I meant the Philip Pullman books. As much as I love Tolkien’s stories the constant digressions are wearying.

Exactly. As soon as the CGI budget was in the building all plot, story & dialogue went out the frigging window faster than Bran in S01 E01
