85's are at 4. The 80s are at 6 i see. From the specs you posted I don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t. The speakers are rated at 6 ohm and there’s more than enough power there.

My fault Yep.The specs you gave above also quoted ratings for the Yamaha at 4 ohm and 2 ohm?
Yes, I would never count on anything outside the declared specification.Assuming the amplifier has a power supply robust enough to deliver high current into low impedance speaker loads.
I do have a pair of Dali Zensor 1 that i will use - as my girlfriend said that she wants a soundbar in the livingroom instead of large speakers.
I still need some advice on cables and and perhaps a sub.
They are. I have a pair in red mahogany and I love them. I power them with a NAD C 316BEE amplifier, which is an excellent combination.
That sounds like a nominal match?Found the manual i had, and peaked behind the amp.
Manual says Use Speakers with an impedance of at least 6ohm. And at the rear of the amp it says 6ohm min / speaker.
Guess the Wharfedales are out of the question for now.

I misread. The Denton 85 are 4ohm nominal. The 80s have pretty much disappeared in Europe and the 85 are £499 + VAT which is a lot lower that you pay for them over there.
Yeah, I’d pass on the Dentons with your amp.Found the manual i had, and peaked behind the amp.

i thought i was the only red mahogany wharfedale guy round these parts! my lintons and dentons are both the red mahogany. They are. I have a pair in red mahogany and I love them. I power them with a NAD C 316BEE amplifier, which is an excellent combination.
You and me, bud. It was an easy decision for me, as the red mahogany veneer is gorgeous. Does it match my decor perfectly? No, my decor bows to its glory.i thought i was the only red mahogany wharfedale guy round these parts! my lintons and dentons are both the red mahogany.
you could always pick up a b stock NAD and sell your present.Found the manual i had, and peaked behind the amp.

@Fixxman32 This is good advice.you could always pick up a b stock NAD and sell your present.
Blue Jeans Cable (especially LC-1) has been my go-to for years now due to unassailable construction quality. However, a 3 ft BJC interconnect has jumped over 20% in price in one year. Blame supply chain challenges and labor costs in Seattle, if you want. I’ve been casting an eye towards World’s Best Cables on Amazon as a viable, lower cost alternative. Great materials quality, but soldered versus hydraulically crimped connectors.Blue Jeans Cables are what I use, they’re really good quality and value for money.
