Hip Hop

Fatbeats just said they've got a date for the Portishus album if anyone else has completely forgot about it. Nice having a shite memory sometimes, you get suprised repeatedly.

I randomly found one in my local a couple months back, so I just canceled my order from them. I'd completely forgotten about it at the time, though

EDIT: I just got an update about "my order" and was told to "rest assured" that it would be filled. Pretty sure I already got a refund on that canceled order, so I guess we'll just see how this pans out and if they ship it anyway

Fingers crossed you get a free copy to PIF or something. Fatbeats can't go wrong IMO but that was a long thing.

shipped me my copy many months back and i got the same email, i think it's a generic email they sent out to anyone who ordered it.

Fatbeats couldn't go wrong, but, as you said, that was a long time ago. Over the last year or two they've completely gone to shit. The entire staff left and/or was replaced. Shops are having issues with them on the distribution side, as well. It's too bad.

Hello and greetings from Rapbay.com. We immediately refunded customers for that product the same day as we received our short shipment. That was a manufacturer error. Missed out on that billy woods book. Bummed but atleast I got the vinyl.
Anyone got a lead single on that new billy?

Benny The Butcher - Tana Talk 4
Burden of Proof was 12 songs & 38 minutes and a single LP while TT4 is 12 songs & 40 minutes and 2LP. Am I the only one slightly annoyed?

(Feel free to insert the vinyl expense & inconvenience meme I know I know :ROFLMAO:)

It's all about exercise, empire want slim healthy people to buy records. You're no good to any label if you're in hospital or dead.

I agree that Fatbeats has fallen off, shame as I used to always buy everything there (before the days of all these exclusives).

However vinyldigital has always come through for me. In college (5+ years ago) I used to order 50-60 records from them at a time and flip them here. Made enough in that hustle to get my first few hundred records and smoke all I wanted. ANYWAY I've never had substantial issues with them, especially in the dozen or so non-bulk orders I've placed in the years since that period of my life. I'm sorry that you've run into issues and don't doubt you, but in my experience VD is usually the cheapest and fastest option for overseas shipping and gets tons of cool EU variants for all genres if you poke around. And the couple times I've had seam splits theyve fixed my issue with my next order.

Their mailers are absolute shit, but they just keep using them. My Reject 2 was split and, instead of offering the typical 10% refund, they actually offered to replace the sleeve by shipping it with my Rome Streetz - Razor's Edge. I was happy. Then, I got 2 MOOW records a couple months later and they looked like this

20220311_105541.jpg20220311_105552.jpg20220311_105603.jpg20220311_105519.jpg20220311_105531.jpg20220311_105507.jpg

I only have those pics on deck, because I had to email them again this morning. These are 2 separate LPs from 2 different shipments that arrived the same day. Both with splits and bends.

And when the Rome finally arrived, months later... no Conway replacement sleeve.

I thought this was pretty much common knowledge that they ship like garbage. A little bubble wrap won't protect them, but I think only the Rome even had that

I'm still ordering from them, but it really has to be something I absolutely can't get anywhere else. They're aware of the problem, but don't care to fix it, which is unfortunate. Turntable Lab used to use shitty mailers, but eventually did something about it.

Vin-Dig will apologize, but rarely do much about it and can take forever to ship. They'll also tell you that they have no replacements on a 50 Round Drum, or something, and then release more copies the next day. These are exclusives.

The straw for me was when I ordered a Meitei - Kwaidan reissue, because they had it for the best deal. That was around November of 2020. 5 months later, I emailed them to see what was going on. Oops! They never got any copies, after all, but never bothered to tell me or issue a refund. They were nice about it and admitted it "looks really bad," but by that time, it was impossible to find that album anywhere else and I'd been waiting on that repress for a long time. I'm still trying to hunt it down.

If they'd fix the known issues, I'd be happy. I just know that every time I place an order, I'm rolling the dice, these days.

I hope they do get their shit together again. Percy P? Godfather Don? used to hustle their mix CD's outside. If I ever made it to NY it was my first port of call after 139 and Lennox cause there's a big park and trying to find a soul food/chicken shop our (now disgraced) Westwood did a live show at back in 2002 ish.
They've been alright to me recently but seem to have lost focus on why fam loved them.

Stretch and Bobbito. Xxx

Getting off the underground scene for a minute and this is random as hell but Tobi Lou needs production flowers. I'd love to see him produce for more people.
His production reminds me of J Hus's producer Jae5 over here. Can't f with vocoders though, abomination of the production game, overused and more often than not really badly. If you gonna sing then f'ing sing, fucked up dancehall the same. IM humble O.
