Hip Hop

Still have my dads original with this cover. It’s one of his favorite childhood memories linked to music. Picking this up from the store and then the uproar that followed it/made the cover change.

That's pretty cool. I got the chance to meet Williams a few years ago, when he had an exhibition in the area. They even had some crazy sculptures of his work come to life.

I bought his massive monograph book, which weighs a ton and got him to sign my copy of his 2979 book, The Lowbrow Art Of Robert Williams, which originally had the Appetite cover.

Damn wtf. What have I missed? How does this robot stuff relate to the Conway cover?

That painting is called "Appetite For Destruction." It was created in 1978 by Robert Williams. This is where the GNR album took its name from and it's the original cover art of the album.

That Celtic cross image that CEP references for this Conway album was actually an alternate/replacement design after the first one was "banned" and relegated to the inside cover. The cross image, created by a guy named Billy White Jr., was initially just designed as a tattoo for Axl Rose

Ah, ok.

That's what I love about music, and the varied tastes among all of us, as LaMaquina to this day is still my favorite Conway project. My old head self still gravitates towards the boom bap slap that dominated that album.
Yeah I don't understand the dislike on it. Sure it's not boom bap but it's ok to have a little variety. Couple weak tracks but damn Clarity and SE Gang are some top tier Conway imo
