Hip Hop

I didn't love the first FIAAG but it definitely grew on me. Got some of my fave recent Gunn joints on it: Lunchin, Ferragamo Funeral, Gunnlib, Lakers vs Rockets...plus I love the art on that one. This one may grow on me too. It just seems kinda tossed-off, like leftovers from P4P. I like Stove God Cooks but the three features were a bit much. I honestly think Greatminder is my favorite track on there. Buffs vs Wires and Michael Irvin are really dope too.

It's all relative too because my least favorite Gunn stuff I still like better than like 85% of what else is out there.
"Malik B get on the mic there's too much on my mind..."

God damn. What a day. Bless up though The Roots are in my top 5 most listened to easily and most of their best stuff was when Greg Porn, Dice Raw, Malik etc etc were in the mix along with Black Thought.

You have no idea how many times I've asked The Roots, OKAYPLAYER, Questlove, and Black thought for this on Instagram. Literally @'d them about it again two days ago. Streams of Thought 2 is as good as it gets for me.

I DMed the label that released them a few hours ago haha. Still no reply. Seems so crazy to me considering the current state of the hip-hop vinyl Community, I think they could sell well.

Has anyone purchased from here before? Noticed they have the recent Things Fall Apart 3xLP release on sale.

I have, ‘tis legit. I think Spotify actually links to them from artist pages to buy merch.

They are supposed to do a similar 3LP reissue for Illadelph Halflife and then Do You Want More??!!??! after that. Original plans were 2019, 2020, 2021 -- but who knows now with the state of things.

I remember reading an article years ago in which Questlove said they had recorded something like 200 or 300 songs for their 13th album. Still nothing.. As such a sprawling ensemble the Roots relied very much on Rich Nichols, their career-long producer who passed in 2014. Rich steered the ship and made many of the tough calls for the group.
Just as much, the Roots' albums have always been reactive to the mood of the times and to personal events that rocked their worlds (see Game Theory, which plays like an audio-vigil to their close collaborator and friend J Dilla). Thought and brother question have been extra politically vocal lately, so something tells me we will have to wait until after the election for them to settle on the mood for album #13.

I'm calling album #13 now for a 2021 release. I think chances are fairly good that this will be their last studio album as a unit, other than probably some more film soundtracks using the band's name. Black Thought and Quest have so many other creative ventures now and are each edging on 50, and to me Then You Shoot Your Cousin felt a little bit tired/rehashed and not really like themselves - certainly not as inspired as Undun or How I Got Over before it - which is why I think this could be the last album if we get one at all.

I agree. Considering the album is supposed to be named End Game, I was already think it would be their last. Also, the fact Thought has begun releasing solo albums says it all. He never had a reason to do it. Now he kind of does. I’m okay with it in a way. They’ve served us with so much greatness. I think they could perform and do other ventures along with the tonight show for the rest of their lives and they would be happy and satisfied and so would I. I wonder what kind of spark if any, the Malik death will place on them. I also wonder what a post COVID, post election roots will look like. I’m excited for the album but I know it won’t be here soon.

I got the silver...it was more limited but now I kinda wish I got the red. It seems that the red also has a hype sticker on the vinyl saying "featuring mach-hommy" so I'm wondering if it's only on the red? Also, PMing you. I found the track!

Just got my silver copy from Bleep and the sticker to say it includes the Mach feat is on it, plus he's listed on the tracklist on the back! You might know this already just wanted to update

Anyone's Feet of Clay from FatBeats still in pre-shipment? Or is this just my month to suffer via USPS

Fatbeats sems to take a few days once the item is available to move things into pre-shipment and then another 7-10 days to actually ship. It wasn't much better for me during pre-Covid times. Even if everything is in stock the day you order expect a week before it ships.

Y i got an email that they shipped something on the 24th and it took until today for it to be "accepted" at the usps. If yours is still in pre-shipment that does seem weird... although given whatever is happening at your local distro center maybe FL is the hub for crappy mail service.
I saw P4P hasn't moved

Nothing infuriates me more than when they tell you its shipped but in reality it just means they printed the label and wont give it to the mail weeks later.
