Do you have a personal ranking of his work? I feel like I’m more familiar with a handful of tracks outside of Illmatic. Growing up I felt his style was too raw for me. One Mic comes to mind and was super popular but I couldn’t figure out why. I grew up with Stillmatic and God’s Son (which I owned the CD), but could never break out from interested to a really engaged fan.unpopular opinion but It Was Written is better than Illmatic in my opinion.also i would say It's safe to say the Hip Hop community would agree Nas has more than a couple of classic albums.
Now that I’ve had time to refine my tastes, I find myself coming back to him more and more. But not enough to where I could claim any albums as classics (again outside of Illmatic).
