Hip Hop

Every time I see there is something from HBO in my inbox there's a split second where I'm optimistic that it's a notification about a Mach repress... but it's usually just telling me to catch up on John Oliver :(

I feel this pain. I do think hes gonna go back and press some of them like The Spook, Fete, Luh Hertz, and Dumpmeister. Fwiw tho the HBO one is 4 LP and only 50 full sets exist, with an etching on every B side and he charged 1k a pop for them at first then charged 1k a side after selling half. I'd take a CD and candle tbh but not for the 300$ tag

Does anyone else have weird superstitions with music? I have this thing where I can only listen to Big KRIT during the fall/winter time. I cannot even fathom playing any of his songs during spring or summertime. For this reason, I'm always excited as soon as Fall comes cause I will start bumping KRIT. This is all probably because I first fell in love with his music during the Fall and I also think the fall vibes go so well with the music too. I wish KRIT's next album is more like his previous work rather than like this new album he dropped recently. Something about those southern beats he makes are just magical.

Jay Worthy and Shlohmo's EP, Till the Morning, just got pressed in a couple of different variants...

Price is steep, esp given the length, but the B-side has the instrumentals on it. If you're a Worthy fan and haven't checked this out, it's worth a listen. I'm a fan of Shlohmo, but I was not expecting the beats he brought to the table for this project. This is probably my favorite Jay Worthy solo project and this track with Krayzie Bone is dope AF...

I do this too with some things. There's stuff I prefer to listen to at night. There's stuff I like in the winter or the summer. I think some of it is when the album came out or when I first got attached to something. I wonder if this is more common with people who are from parts of the world where there are 4 distinct seasons.

hey now, I got 4 seasons- sticky hot, hella hot, is that a breeze?, and moderately brisk.

but yeah, my music is based on my mood and my mood is often based on the weather. I've got playlists called "soleil" and "rainy day."
