Pilot talk seems ultra easy to get. I paid over the odds for it but I'm comfortable with my decision as it was bought in advance without stress šŸ˜Œ
What do you mean by ā€œI paid over the odds for itā€? Does that mean you paid a premium/extra to pre-order yourself a copy?

Hopefully your guys' Pilot Talks aren't warped. The first copy I got was extremely warped to the point it was unplayable. Thankfully I was able to snag the last copy at another store near me and it just had a slight edge warp/hump that isn't really noticeable (although there's a small black speck that looks pressed into the vinyl that causes 3 ticks at the end of Seat Change). A little bummed but at least 99% of it sounds good. I'll just not watch it spin to ignore the slight warp
Iā€™m lucky that my local does a great job at flattening records, even if they are really badly warped. Hoping my copy isnā€™t too warped though! šŸ¤ž

I donā€™t mind a warp but if itā€™s extremely warped, Iā€™ll be going ā€˜šŸ™„ā€™!

Itā€™s so expensive though and I have to pay international shipping on top, so itā€™s a pass! šŸ˜”

Also, because of the 4 extra tracks, it means more tracks are on each side, so I donā€™t know if the sound quality is going to be great! Iā€™m going to wait for reviews on how this pressing sounds!

The 2020 EU reissue seems to have positive reviews so far, so I might pick that one up! I think I want just the original tracklisting for Country Grammar too!

I like the two bonus tracks, but I donā€™t love them! Come Over is a pretty catchy tune though!

Anyone picking up this Nelly Country Grammar deluxe edition on vinyl?
I've got a copy from I think around 2015 I'm happy with it. My Nelly vinyl collection is complete as it stands. His later and not great albums aren't currently on vinyl

I'm starting to become the same way since warping seems inevitable with the way records are pressed and churned out nowadays. But with the first copy I received, it was almost like a see saw with how much it wobbled when you pressed one side down & the other side would shoot right up šŸ˜Ŗ

I'll wait and hope it ends up in sale sections

Omg that album with the song ā€œJust A Dreamā€ is so shit! I actually liked ā€˜Brass Knucklesā€™ because there were a lot of sexy summer jams on that album, like ā€œL.A.ā€, ā€œLong Nightā€, ā€œLieā€, ā€œBody On Meā€ and ā€œLet It Go Lilā€™ Mamaā€ šŸ”„šŸ’§

Even ā€˜Party Peopleā€™ was a messy, sexy, stomping, crashing the party, kinda jam! And ā€˜One and Onlyā€™ had Nelly flexing his vocals nicely over a breezy, slow-motion, subdued Polow Da Don beat! šŸ‘Œ

But damn...every album Nelly released afterwards such straight up trash! šŸ„±āŒ

Yeah, when something is really badly warped, it pisses me off! Happens so much to me because Iā€™m in Australia and shipping issues! Happy flattening exists though! Makes things much better, especially with limited edition stuff!

Not a fan of anything really after the double album sweat and suit tbh but everything before Brass Knuckles was šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„ to me

The first two songs on Suit are so fucking good! ā€˜Play It Offā€™ is one of Nellyā€™s best songs! The Neptunes production and Pharrellā€™s feature on that track is so good! The tempo is amazing and itā€™s a smooth, luxurious, sexy song that is R&B but hip-hop at the same time! šŸ˜šŸ’Ž

And then ā€˜Pretty Toesā€™ is such a great Jazzy Pha production and just the summer vibe and everything is on point with that song too! šŸŽÆ

What does your local do to flatten? I came across this product called the vinyl flat but I've heard mixed reviews about it. Also tested some DIY techniques but those haven't really worked in my favor

Nellyville and Country Grammar are his two best albums in my opinion! They just both had at least three classic tracks and just had more authenticity to them!

Pimp Juice is such a sexy, sweaty, bump-n-grind song too! Love that one! Pimp Juice, then Air Force Ones being the next track afterwards is so good! šŸ‘Œ

Iā€™ve got the vinyl flat and I donā€™t like it!! It doesnā€™t work that well and whenever I have flattened a vinyl, itā€™s created surface noise or has made a record skip! Not a fan!

My local cleans the record then used a professional flattener! I have some ridiculously warped records (shouldā€™ve seen my Sire Edition Yellow Madvillainy vinyl), and my local flattens it and itā€™s so flat and straight, and plays perfectly with no surface noise! They take their time though, but they do a great job and itā€™s a lifesaver! Makes the hobby more enjoyable and I like that I support my local like that - give them $$$ and I get a perfect copy of an album I cherish! šŸ‘

That's actually so awesome! I wish some of my local shops did stuff like that. Hell, if one of my shops had a VPI cleaner I'd gladly pay them to professionally deep clean my records for me.

Also thanks for the feedback on the Vinyl Flat. I'm definitely going to stay away from it now... sorry you had a bad experience though :(

Yeah, I love that my local does it! Iā€™m always giving them like 10 records at a time to flatten! And itā€™s the best feeling playing them when theyā€™re flat and donā€™t have any noise/are in great condition! The fact that they give it a great clean beforehand is awesome too! I only pay AUD$70 to get 10 discs flattened + cleaned! Which is really good! I love the guy that does it for me!

Yeah, the vinyl flat isnā€™t terrible, but itā€™s just not safe! Iā€™ve ruined records that were limited editions and records Iā€™ve loved, so I was like ā€œnever againā€! Also, it canā€™t flatten particular warps, like those small nasty curvy warps.

I also donā€™t like the Spin Clean. I donā€™t really dry my records that properly. I always used a dryvac after doing the spin clean and it made all my records more noisy/have a lot of pops. I just hate the spin clean! Much better getting a record cleaning machine!

All these popular vinyl equipment things to assist with cleaning/fixing records - Vinyl Flat, Spin Clean, Dryvac 33 - are decent but they are more manual. The more professional equipment, like cleaning machines and automatic flatteners, are much more expensive, but do a much better, safer job! Learnt the hard way!
