@NathanRicaud I said before I hate lists but 3k is definitely in my top 10Sa-Roc rocks!
I'm in love with that album.
And yes, @NathanRicaud, I'm most probably with you in regards to 3 Stacks - OutKast has been my most influential hip hop group growing up and there's just something about his style that speaks to me like nothing else.
I disqualify Tribe since it’s literally 1 CD. Staples is fair game though.
- Life After Death
They're all too bloated though, even Summertime to a degree. And if you consider Speakerboxx/The Love Below as a double album, it'd probably be above Diplomatic Immunity. But I consider it as 2 separate solo albums. And Underground Kingz is just behind Forever.
Its an amazing album. Best double disc in hiphop history??
Its subjective i respect anyone with a different opinion. These albums are extremely close in terms of quality for me. Pac my favourite artist of all time so its going to be biased lolI got Life After Death as the best but I feel you.
Oh man, you are bringing back some fond memories. Riding around smoking blunts of brick weed, listening to Bone was everything!I remember always parking my car in a hidden little area in a field down the way from my parents house and always playing Hard Times and If I Could Teach The World from Bone Thugs double album while smoking the cheapest ass weed ever
Was coming to give Art of War a shout-out. I really enjoy a good amount of that album but feel lots never really talked about.I remember always parking my car in a hidden little area in a field down the way from my parents house and always playing Hard Times and If I Could Teach The World from Bone Thugs double album while smoking the cheapest ass weed ever
It started out as just Double albums so yeah 2 x CD but got skewed along the way as always lolWhat are you guys ranking? 2xCD albums? Seems like that would be a pretty short list. That is too long for a single album. Also, many single CD albums are longer than some that have been listed, like Summertime '06, that's why I'm confused about the criteria.
As someone who is really happy with many 2xLPs, I don't know if any albums that are long enough to need to be on 2 CDs wouldn't be improved by cutting some tracks, but 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time is a pretty good one, even if it only missed 1 CD by 10 or 15 minutes. It started out as just Double albums so yeah 2 x CD but got skewed along the way as always lol
Hard to argue with your trimming logic its very true. Staples isn't a double length feature to me in the same breath as Life After Death or AEOM. Its too short so yes its an unfair advantage and I'm a massive Vince Staples fanAs someone who is really happy with many 2xLPs, I don't know if any albums that are long enough to need to be on 2 CDs wouldn't be improved by cutting some tracks, but 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time is a pretty good one, even if it only missed 1 CD by 10 or 15 minutes.
I think the Staples album is great, but it has an unfair advantage of being an artistic decision as opposed to not fitting on a single disc.
