It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

that's actually a very realistic possibility! I'm not confident about Germany's prospects this tournament. Portugal and France are currently better.

Yeah I think they’re both better and I’m not convinced by what I’ve seen of Germany. I think they look like they are in transition. Also having grown up in England I’m contractually obliged to give the German football team the absolute bare minimum of praise 😂

Anyone else struggling to get into this tournament? Don't know if it's because we struggled yesterday or what, but I'm not all that excited for this. I think I'm waiting for one amazing game to get things fired up...
I'm well in to it. Watching footy and drinking beer at 2pm on a Monday is what life is meant to be like.

Edit to add that those of us lucky enough to be working from home really need to make the most of this. We are unlikely to be in this situation again.

Kroos is making his case to be cut from my team early in this one......ffs

Kroos, a bit like Kante, is one of those wonderful world class players that you’d have in any real team but they’re not really FF players.

I still can’t believe that Sane isn’t starting for Germany. Also looking at Mbappe at only 22 it’s scary how good he could potentially be.

I did it cuz he's cheap and usually takes free kicks and corners! lol but the last two have been FOO FOO

Feels like Mbappe has been around forever. He’s already had a career that anyone would be over the moon about having… and he’s still got many years to go!

I know it’s been said before but he’s the closest thing I’ve seen to Ronaldo before the knee injuries. Not quite that good, Ronaldo before the knee injuries is the best centre forward I’ve ever seen and by quite a considerable distance, but the similarities are definitely there.

My hot take? Germany to either scrape through in third or to go out in the group stages in third.
Scraping through on third is all i'm hoping for. Just hoping they don't go down with 3 or 4 and keep this game relatively close.
Hot take: might be wise to take Kimmich off. That would be like sacrificing this game, but I think he's in serious risk of getting kicked off with the yellow and the intensity he plays and they need him against Portugal

Hes such a clever and creative defensive midfielder that I hate to see him sacrificed out on the right. If you play with wing backs is there another option on the right to allow him to tuck inside?
