Is there still plans of a super league?

No, but yes. There are still 3 clubs officially attached to the “league” and there is talk that the 6 outside the uk maybe involved in a repackaged idea down the line. I think the political fall out would prevent the English clubs going back there in the near future, as much as the American owners of 3 of them would love to, but the other leagues are still very much in the PLs shadow financially, so…

But yeah, it was a gross idea.

But yeah, it was a gross idea.

I watched Destination Porto today and there’s a brief scene discussing the SL.
I did a quick Wiki read and the idea just stinks of the rich getting richer and screwing over the fans.

Yeah and totally against sporting merit and the way the European game has grown organically to encompass a football pyramid with promotion and relegation. It felt very much like European giants jealous of the PL money machine allying with American absentee owners in an attempt to falsely impose an American style closed league on us.

That said the proposed new champions league structure is equally as gross for all the same reasons.
