It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

Was listening to the radio earlier and the rumours coming out of Chelsea are for Tuchel uncomfortably familiar after his spells at Dortmund and PSG. Tactically and coaching wise spot on. But a pain in the arse to employ. Moaning about no signings, not all that interested in giving input into signings and then moaning again about the players coming in. Basically acting like an overgrown teenager with the board. The worrying difference for him is that for the first time half the squad were sick of him too, that hadn’t happened before.

There’s a thought that’s his next move should be to a club that’s neither big nor small. Where he’d have good money and structure but the space to coach as he sees fit and the profile of player he can mould to his way without complaint.

I don’t think there’s the profile of job there to keep him and looking at the top 6, Pep and Klopp are untouchable. Arteta has done too good a job to be going anytime soon. Ten Haag is too new and Conte, although combustible at the drop of a hat, seems happy at Spurs right now.

I actually don’t see the right job in Europe for him right now. I think it’ll be sitting it out till the summer, refreshing himself and starting again next season.

This to me, reads like Leipzig, or Bayern if things go sour with Nagelsmann. I think Tuchel is a spoiled baby with his complaints like you said and must know he won’t have the spending like he had at Chelsea. I can’t see Pep leaving after this season and him going to City. I can’t see him going to Italy, Spain or back to France. He’d definitely get a job back in Germany if he knows he’d have to take a small step back to go forward again.

I think he’d fall out with the rigid hierarchy at Bayern. Leipzig appears to have gone for now. One of the Milan clubs would probably be a perfect fit, I don’t see a job coming up there in the near future though. Maybe Newcastle but equally why would you sack Howe given the job he’s done.
