It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

Ronaldo is making Lukaku's interviews look like childsplay. What an idiot. He's actually finished as a top footballer.

@Joe Mac do you want him gone after this?

I wanted him gone in the summer when he first threw his toys out of the pram. Everything he’s done since, culminating with this shitshow, has just served to tarnish his reputation at the club and leave a bad taste in the mouth. That is sad after the first spell but for all that he’s probably the best I’ve seen at united he’s never been loved by the fanbase in the same way as others, even then.

Ironically he’s right about the training facilities and the infrastructure of the club being in a time warp, the Glazer shits have run it down disgracefully, but going after the manager and team mates isn’t on.

Also you can judge people by the company you keep. He’s using Morgan for this, nuff said.

I was listening to Rebecca Lowe on a podcast yesterday and she was asked about CR7 and she said both sides should have parted ways over the summer.
he should have just gone to City last summer. United wouldn't have had more than half their players regress last season because he had to be the focal point of that team, City would have walked the league, plus Haaland may not have gone there this season if Ronaldo was still there. City win then lose, United win, and Ronaldo would win overall. Hindsight is 20:20, etc. but he mismanged his career terribly after leaving Juventus.

I mean hindsight is king but going to city would have trashed his reputation at united in a similar, if not worse, way to this whole saga. I also don’t put last season on him, he did his job in putting the ball in the back of the net. Since July has just been an utter shit show though, wish he’d have just have fucked off in the summer. I am, however, getting flashback to just how petulant he was at times in 2008/09 and how I wasn’t sad to see the man, as opposed to the player, leave even back then.

I don’t like the digs at Rooney either. He’s a bit of an idiot but he effectively sacrificed his own game for two years at his peak, because he peaked very young, to allow Ronaldo to be the star as he deemed that best for the team.

He seems to care a lot about what people think of him so betraying the United fans, at the time, was too much. He must have thought that he could easily help United to compete for the league and/or CL with a good chance to win it. However, that would never have happened for United if you repeated last season 1000 times over. If he came to City, won the league, score 30+ goals in that system, maybe go far in the CL, he would have had a shot at another Balon d'Or that he cares about so much. All hypothetical though.

I think right now he thinks going back to United was a waste of time, thinks he's got 2 or 3 more good seasons in him and wants out of United so he can score more goals/win the CL/win another BdO. None of those things will happen after this interview. He'd be lucky if Sporting even still want him. The best he can hope for is someone from Turkey/MLS/Saudi Arabia/Qatar grabbing him. But he'd have to significantly reduce his wages and he'd lose out on CL and/or being in a Top 5 league. His ego is too big to realize that and would scoff at a move to a "lesser league". So I think he's genuinely finished. No one will want him in January. I think he retires next year/next summer.

Honestly I think his head is. I’ll win the World Cup, retire, show them all up and then leave them regretting crossing me.

I actually think the only two people who have ever been able to penetrate his hard head are Fergie and Jorge Mendes.

Yes his ego is insane, but it was from the age of 18, he wasn’t Messi in terms of a natural talent, even though let’s be fair he had more than almost everyone else, and it was that ego and drive that is undoing him now that drove him to reach the same levels for so long. Let’s face it, he’s 38 and it’s kind of astounding that a pacy forward, and then athletic striker, is still playing at such a high level without dropping back down the pitch.

Me reading all of these tales about United’s lack of modern equipment and other things…

I have no idea what that means.

But. Clearly they’re a professional sports team and they have incredibly advanced training facilities. But they were cutting edge in 2005 and haven’t been invested sufficiently since in because the Glazer shits have been more interested in pulling approaching £2 billion out of the club rather than sanctioning infrastructure investments.

We’re comparing with Real Madrid, Juventus and the other teams at the top end of the Premier League here.

I’m talking about this stuff. Instead of the popcorn gif, I went with a nice cookie and milk

I mean you’re not telling fans anything they don’t already know. The Glazers are destroying our football club.

Apart from Zlatan. There are sewers less full of shit that him.

I know I’m not telling you or any United fan here anything new, I was just explaining the gif. I like chaos in sports. Sometimes it can be more entertaining than what’s being played.

I adjusted your post accordingly 😊
