It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

Yes.

I like the PL trophy a little better than CL because of the King Bob-omb effect.

The old first division trophy from before the premier league era is still one of my favourites. Love the European cup, particularly because of how massive it is. Prem is ok, but it looks a bit like a knock of small champions league and the gold bits are a bit tacky.

Very interesting.

I'd also like to add that I am not a big fan of clubs already in the Prem trying to poach the managers of the newly promoted clubs.
I don't think Leicester or Ipswich would let their current managers leave right now. But $$$ talks. It would be a death sentence for both of them to have someone jump ship immediately.

Southgate incoming

I know it’s sad but true.

Maybe the timing with the euros saves us from that far but it’ll likely be a lightweight like Potter 😕

In all seriousness I wanted him 2016 when van Gaal left but it was never likely then. In 2019 when Boreinho left Ole should have been a caretaker and we should have moved heaven and earth to get him that summer. Damn I even wanted him over ten Haag in 2022. Whether successful or not he is a manager that I don’t see being overawed by the the job in the same way ten Haag appears to have been.

I think Leicester probably have the means to hold off most mid table down teams. Ipswich is more of a worry but you’d hope both the club and McKenna don’t see the pound signs, especially for that plastic club on the south coast.
