It Could Get A Bit Messi In Here - The Football Thread.

Bamford would be a huge gamble based on only really 1 top level season, I’d not want to throw too much money at him. Unless he goes back to Spain, in which case again low fee, Rodrigo’s stature has dipped massively over the last two years.

Probably, although I think both are a risk. Bamford because of fitness and Rodrigo because of age.
Yea I guess Rodrigo is getting up there....However, the Sheikhs don't care about Bamfords foot probs it seems!

I don’t think there will be that type of money at Everton in summer. My feeling is Arsenal or West Ham.
Not so sure. Everton spend money but on the wrong players. I'm not convinced by Lampard but I think even he knows a holding/passing midfielder is what's required.
Arsenal nead a leader rn and agree he probably fits the mould for Arteta.
West Ham are traditionally not big spenders but with the revenue coming in from the Olympic stadium who knows.

With the Russian who was bringing in sponsor money, and those sponsors, now sanctioned there just full stop is very unlikely to be lots of money to be spent at Everton.

That’s the hottest take I’ve heard around here for a while. I kinda admire metronomes who control matches for teams that win things as opposed the tactically naïve “Roy of the Rovers” lads who look good but win much less…
I mean, he was definitely a player, but at this point he's become legendary and I don't think he's quite there.

I think Roy is self effacing enough to admit that himself.

I agree and I think the other comment I replied to above is shooting at the wrong target there, Keane was seriously top level and was a key reason why untied won so much.
Agreed. As a manager, not so much 😆

Haha! Totally! I don’t think he could cope with people who weren’t either as talented as the lads he played with or if not so talented weren’t as committed as he was. Those signs were there as a player too towards the end when united were in a mini transition.
