Yep, I have a handful of their releases, this is actually not japanese jazz (though recorded in Japan) - Kang Tae Hwan , really unreal stuff

Lol, I have an order of 10 on their way from Lithuania right now. Some good stuff on that label.
Yeah some of it is really good, some of it kind of exists for the sake of it I think, which is fine. I mean they did an Abe record so no matter what they are great in my book
It seems like they work with Chap Chap records a lot which is how I think they get a lot of these recordings from

They have an extensive catalog and I was surprised to see a few big names like Sam Rivers, Andrew Cyrille or Kaoru Abe. There is even an album recorded at Salão Brazil, a small venue in Coimbra, Portugal, city where my parents are from.

The line up of this album is amazing.

Great news for Three Blind Mice lovers. 35 new titles will be added to the Supreme Collection 1500. As a remember, 40 titles got released last year in 4 batches of 10 CD. This time there will be 7 batches of 5 titles from August to February. Some long OOP albums will be available, some for the first time on CD. I listed all the future releases below with a link to the Discogs page. I know it's not vinyl but at the moment this is, IMO, the best option to discover TBM catalog.

Ryo Fukui - In New-York and A Letter From Slowboat will be reissued by WRWTFWW in their We Release Jazz serie. As usual, it's a limited edition, half speed mastered, pressed on 180g vinyl in stoughton tip-pn sleeve with OBI with liner notes. Probably a more affordable option than the Japanese reissues.

I haven’t heard that Letter from Slowboat. How do you like it compared to his other records?

It's a great live recording that I found very melancholic considering it's his last album and it was recorded in his and wife's jazz club in Sapporo. Not my favourite Ryo Fukui's album though but still a an album I enjoy. He has a very short discography and all the albums are great, Scenery being his most "famous", so you can't go wrong with this record.

Looking forward to hearing it. We Release Jazz always pressing some awesome stuff.

Also, I'm in the minority that prefers Mellow Dream over Scenery, but I totally agree that Ryo Fukui can do not wrong.

really excited for these, I've been hoping that they would issue them. I loved Scenery.

I got an e-mail from them today. I didn't finish work until nine, a few drinks later pre-ordered Slowboat, New York and thought with the 25% discount may as well get a sweatshirt that probably won't fit. :)

For good measure (I've been meaning to purchase at least one of them for a while), ordered the Boillat Therace Quintet Lp's to go with the Live 1974 pre-order that I ordered a while ago.

Made a shiity day turn out quite nice.

Mellow Dream is his best, I really like that one.

Active as a professional DJ in Japan since the late eighties, DJ Yoshizawa Dynamite is also a renowned remixer, compiler and producer. An avid record collector and an expert of the Wamono style, Yoshizawa published the Wamono A to Z records guide book in 2015 which instantly sold-out. The book unveiled a myriad of beautiful and rare records from a highly prolific, but still then unknown, Japanese groove scene.

After many years working as a record buyer for several stores, DJ Chintam opened his own Blow Up shop in 2018 in Tokyo’s Shibuya district. A member of the Dayjam Crew and a specialist of soul, funk, rare groove and disco music, Chintam is also an expert of the home-brewed Wamono grooves. He supervised and wrote the Wamono A to Z records guide book together with Yoshizawa.

With this first volume of the Wamono series, our two DJs here guide you through some of the best and rarest jazz funk and rare groove tunes produced in Japan between 1968 and 1980. Put the needle on the record, turn up the volume and dig right now into the Wamono sound - the cream of the Japanese funk, soul, rare groove and disco music developed throughout the years since the end of the sixties in Japan!
