Hampshire and Foat - Galaxies Like Grains of Sands is one of my favorite discoveries in the past year or so. I'll have to check this one out too.

I'm sure it will still be around for a while, but the Greg Foat arrived today and it says limited to 1000 copies on the hype sticker (TBH thought it was a standard unlimited reissue). If you do want it, you might not want to wait too long.

now that's what i call a hype sticker!

"an astonishing sonic visualization" !!

Have to say, listening to it now & it sounds pretty astonishing but I need a bit more acid for the visuals (Lovely record).

It needs a clean though. It amazes me that they have spent money on a fantastic thick gatefold and even provided a nice thick archival outer sleeve, but not bothered to spend the extra 5 pence on a poly lined inner. Just comes with a standard black paper one with some free static electricity.

If I could harness the static from my records, could I reduce my heating bills

I got a zerostat for christmas (exciting gifts!) and it definitely helps with the static stuff.

Folks in the US, here's the Dusty Grooves page for it: Mike Taylor : Mandala (LP, Vinyl record album)

Not available to preorder or anything yet, but I'm keeping an eye out!

DG also has Black White & Raga for sale from JiB, and I gotta say, it's pretty great. Listened to it earlier today, worth checking out.

Hey @britprogjazz (I think that's the right user, someone correct me if I'm wrong)

The DustyGrooves page for the Mandala LP went down-- are you guys going to distribute it to them? I'll buy it direct but I'm in the US and I'd love to save some on shipping if possible.

This put a smile on my face. It’s the music I grew up on.

Did your parents play this type of stuff or does this music just spontaneously occur out of when you are walking down the street? Mom I’m going down to the corner store to get some Zappos chips (Tipitina). Dad I’m going down to the creek to catch frogs wit some kids with French sounding last names. (Tipitina). Goes dress shopping for some debutant ball with her mom. (Tipitina). Drinking beer and eating crawfish with college friends (fucking Tipitina again!). Im jealous.

I haven't dug through the thread to see if this has been discussed already, but Real Gone is doing a fantastic job with their Black Jazz reissue series. My favorites so far have been the Awakening's "Hear, Sense, and Feel" and Henry Franklin's "The Skipper," but they're all excellent and worth picking up.

We're living in a golden age of jazz reissues!
