Let's See Your Collection! Any Size!

I need to get a couple more shelves myself. Thinking about doing a 2x4 and a 4x4 around a corner - but before that, I need to move the bookshelf and CD rack that is there....an I don't know where to put them.

I was also thinking about maybe getting a new 5x5 and doing a back to back peninsula, as I don't have wall space for much more.

I think the peninsula can look nice if you have the room for it.

Finally got all my records unboxed in our new house! We had to paint this room first so it took a little time before I could bring them out of storage.

I want to get nicer shelves but those will cost $500+ each and that’s a later this year or next year expense with other, more important things taking precedence.

I previously used one of the Kallaxes on its side to put my TT on but since those are standing up I will need to have my record player and speakers in this corner opposite the room.

As you can see more IKEA furniture! This doesn’t work because the speakers wouldn’t fit on the table. I’m looking for something wider and hopefully more custom that can have the receiver under the TT because they were previously sitting on top of each other. This area is about 40”~ wide. But a 38” or more commonly 36” wide piece would fit here. Does anyone have something similar for their record player and speakers in a tight squeeze like this? I’m also open to upgrading/downsizing my speakers since black plain with a bunch of stickers on the sides is no longer my style.
And we’re back!

This table is still very tight but I won’t be buying a new shelving unit soon so it’s fine for now. I trimmed the foam pads and the speakers are overhanging by a tiny bit but they’re secure. I may want to get some slimmer speakers for this space, but that’s a next year project.

I have 8 records sitting in mailers since I moved everything back in early April so that’s fun to get to go through now too!

Killer poster.

I finally did what I should have before moving into this house: I painted my listening/theater room. I love it so much. It's SOOO much more enjoyable to be in the space now.

The vibes
Nice color! My mom had that color with kind of a burnt yellow for the ceiling and accents for a while. It's nice to break up the white, taupe, and grey that is everywhere.

I finally feel like I’m at a point where I can share my collection on here.

This is about 700 records and is the corner of my office (I have a very long room).

I need to find a nice rug and a listening chair now. Open to suggestions to other improvements or ideas.

Looking good! Love the Lego model of OT!

System looks good, maybe the only small thing would be maybe a small musical sub like a REL to reinforce the bottom end with bookshelves but other than that if you’re happy with how it sounds you have a great little set up there!

Took me ages to complete! I was almost worried Jim would have the new stadium in place before I got finished 🤣 it’s a really cool model though and I enjoyed putting that together with my daughter (we may have lost Sir Alex 🙄 so I need to go find a replacement part now).

I’ll have a look into the sub but at the moment I think I’m pretty happy with the sound. Next piece of gear should be some good headphones.

Haha yes, I’ve always been tempted by it but probably don’t have the space right now! Does it come with a little Denis Law to put inside the Stratford end and the Trinity statue? You know you can aftermarket little battery powered light packs for it too?

I just have a little REL TZero that runs off the same speaker outputs as my main speakers, it just does a nice job of making the bass that bit more defined rather than adding loads of boom, although it can definitely do that where needed on more electronic music!

And yes a nice headphone set up would be cool, I’d keep an eye on drop and there are tonnes of good recommendations on the headphone thread.
