Magnolia Record Club

Okay, so I was not particularly enthused about getting this Jeremiah Fraites album. I’m listening to it now. I had no idea this was going to be moody piano music. It’s very much like something Nils Frahm and Daniel Norgren would do if the collaborated in my head. I’m quite impressed.

Spotify Singles was okay. The highs are high, most of it is just okay. I may have decide I just don’t like Judah and the Lion.

I absolutely love his style and have streamed the new album several times. He outro on My Eyes (I think its called patience) gets me every time. When I saw them live in Denver that is the ONE song I wanted to see.

We’re excited to offer our members the new collaborative album by Andrew Bird + Jimbo Mathus to add to their boxes with an exclusive SIGNED print!

I'll give it a listen again for sure. I remember digging the Bell Bottom Blues cover but I have that one on vinyl already

(Edit: After a re-listen I can safely skip. nothing grabbed me like Bell Bottom Blues. I kind of wish the Fraites discovery track last month was here but I get why not).

The Valerie June news is interesting for March. Any time Magnolia features a person of color is a rare moment (I was genuinely surprised when I looked through their picks over the years), and I am hoping they give us a March record that I can pair that one up with.

I mean if they are going to do a Dualtone Release, how about a deluxe repress of "The Story" or something.

Is Secrectly doing Julien Baker as ROTM? If not, I’d say she’s got a good chance for March.
Yep, she had a clear vinyl exclusive in the Magnolia store. Maybe Kings Of Leon then. I know of no big records coming out in March besides that one.
