Ok, loosen the set screw and raise it, when at the height needed, tighten it again. Thanks for your imput AnthonyI. Here another photo. Sorry for the bad quality. It is difficult to see, but the cue piston is resting on the base of the turntable.

Please send a side-view photo of the entire arm and cartridge so we can get an idea of how it’s currently set up.Thanks for your imput AnthonyI. Here another photo. Sorry for the bad quality. It is difficult to see, but the cue piston is resting on the base of the turntable.

Your arm is too low. You should raise the tonearm at least a couple mm.
This is helpful, thanks. It does look like a small cartridge shim is probably your best bet here. Happen to know anyone with a 3D printer? If I raise it and set it down on the record the Vta will be wrong. You can't really see it in the photo (the top one), it is parallel, but just.
Here another photo, (feeling like a thread spammer).

Unfortunately not, ,I was thinking of cutting a shim out of a 2mm aluminium sheet. Just concerned about the weight because of the heavy arm, and possible resonance issues. This is helpful, thanks. This seller appears to offer tons of nice looking shims from various materials, and looks to ship out of Germany: Stanley Engineering Shop | eBay StoresUnfortunately not, ,I was thinking of cutting a shim out of a 2mm aluminium sheet. Good luck with the cassette player. There is not one of quality currently being made.Hello all,
Taking a leap from vintage to modern audiophile gear. After looking through tons of reviews and seeing current prices at Music Direct, I added the StudioDeck to my short list of tables to replace my Pioneer PL-530. Discovering this thread during my research made my decision clear as I’ve enjoyed the information and community showcased here.
I’d always been a vintage guy, but selling my Jazz record collection about two years ago took the wind out of my sails. Started to get the itch this year but kind of fell out of love with my setup. With my in-laws and wife asking for Christmas ideas, I decided to see if a higher end new set up would reignite my love of my former hobby.
Looks like I‘ll be landing a StudioDeck and Marantz PM6007 as the foundation of my new setup. I’m pretty green to all of this so any advise/tips are more than welcome and appreciated. Especially, if anyone has experience with any of the gear I have or am looking at getting. Hoping to be a sponge here and soak up all the knowledge I can.

Yeah, I didn’t figure there was. When I was in the thick of my record collecting, I started picking up the 80s/90s stuff I listened to growing up on cassette so I could afford the Jazz rabbithole I was diving into at the time. Figured, I bought most of that on cassette then CD back then and couldn’t justify trying to afford both og pressings of 90s hip hop and grunge along with my newfound jazz addiction. Can’t imagine keeping the player as my set up moves toward modern so will likely let it go. Love the three meters though.Good luck with the cassette player. There is not one of quality currently being made.
Thanks! Hoping the improved sound replacing the visual aesthetic I loved in vintage gear will be a worthwhile trade off.Set up looks beautiful though.
Great advice! I decided to take the leap on the StudioDeck and Marantz due to Music Direct’s open box/refurb sales. Especially with their 15%off coupon code on open box stuff, NDS15. Got to use it on the Marantz PM6007 so it was just over $400 and got the StudioDeck for $699 w/o cart. Felt like I couldn’t go wrong at those prices (especially since they were being bought for me ). Trying to control myself and not buy the Wharfedales diamonds or Marantz cd player that the code will work on as well.Welcome! My only piece of advice… if you think there is a chance that you’re going to be the type of person who is going to want to experiment with gear, buy used in order to avoid taking a bath when you resell. My experience early was expensive. Even if turning within a year, you lose at least 40-60% off retail.
My recent purchases have all been used from The Music Room, or from forum members here or at SHF. I haven’t had one bad experience yet and have turned several of the items purchased for 90-100% of what I paid for them.
Good luck on your search! Enjoy the ride!

I originally planned to trade it and most of my other vintage gear in locally for possible vintage upgrades but after deciding to go this route, I figured I’d try to sell locally to avoid shipping. Depending on the thoughts of the members here, I was wondering if it would be worth keeping to have a dedicated mono table, swap between mono and stereo carts on the StudioDeck, or settle for one cart for now and see where that takes me.Are you planning on keeping your 530?
