Oh, no.You just have to love when a company tells you an install is easy, but they didn’t account for their own revisions.
I guess I’ll just see what they say now.Oh, no.![]()
Looking at the picture, would the new motor unscrew from the plate it’s on and then be dropped into your table and screwed in there? From the picture, that looks like it would workYou just have to love when a company tells you an install is easy, but they didn’t account for their own revisions.

The motor size isn’t the issue. It’s that they now use a clip in wiring harness. The only way to make this work would be to take off their wiring harness, cut off the wiring in the table, and wire in everything myself. And frankly, I’m not going to do that.Looking at the picture, would the new motor unscrew from the plate it’s on and then be dropped into your table and screwed in there? I’m semi related news, I got to hear an actual Spiral Groove table today. Truly outstanding. View attachment 231550

I’ve reassembled everything for now, and hopefully tomorrow they’ll have new guidance for me. But I think at this point it’s safe to assume I’ll need to send it in. The real struggle I’m having is do I take off my Hana ML (that I paid to have installed), or ship it with it on and hope for the best.
Only thing that came off the table was the bottom plate and the counterweight on the tonearm. It looks like a lot more than it is. The only touch the cartridge has was putting on the stylus cover.Wow; let is know what they say. If your table looked like the one in their video I can see the simple motor replacement with the wiring harness. I don’t think they realized what version of the motor install you have.
I can’t see the tone arm in your photos but after this amount of dis-assembly / re-assembly I would be checking the cartridge alignment. Just be careful with those fine connection wires if you remove the cart.
You know the answer to this one, even if it is distasteful. The Hana is not under MoFi warranty. The real struggle I’m having is do I take off my Hana ML (that I paid to have installed), or ship it with it on and hope for the best.
Yeah, even though they tried to do the right thing, this really solidifies my perspective on the new MasterDeck. Between the price drop, a 7 year life span on the motor, and the lack of attention to detail... I think it's just ultimately going to make it easier to go elsewhere. You know the answer to this one, even if it is distasteful. The Hana is not under MoFi warranty.
You would have thought they would have a better grip on things like this . Kind of reflects the lack of good customer service I have experienced in the past . Others have had no issues , feels like the toss of the coin .Well, the motor (3009-001) is the same between the two, but this is exactly why companies I worked for in the past would blank out any other visible part numbers and replace with our own part number. These two parts are not the same form or fit, even if they are the same motor...
Allen Perkins is a flat out genius. Ahh, I see your Nordost thingy!I’m semi related news, I got to hear an actual Spiral Groove table today. Truly outstanding. View attachment 231550
This system was 100% Nordost wiring, Nordost power conditioning, Nordost footers under every piece of gear, Nordost grounding boxes tied to every piece of gear. And QSINE or QWAVE in every single open outlet. It was quite a sight... and quite a sound.Allen Perkins is a flat out genius. Ahh, I see your Nordost thingy!I'll be demoing their QSINE and QWAVE soon.
