Yep, like @jamieanderson1968 said that's all it is. I pick a theme and usually work on selecting cool prompts on and off over many months. That's part of the fun for me, and then seeing how everyone else reacts to them once you unveil everything. Basically have fun with it.

....aaand I've done this 4 times now, so I'm perfectly happy giving my September spot to anyone that wants to give this a shot. (last quarter of the year is also the sweet-spot to give you enough time to prepare without feeling rushed).
 
Nothing is set in stone yet @Thackeraye and @throwingthings there a about a dozen or so of us who participate in the challenges month in and month out but many more that dip in and out throughout the year. I am not here to give others spots away but @Turbo @Hemotep and @Nee Lewman have offered to step aside and allow others to lead a month if interested. If there is a particular month that would specifically want you can talk with some of the others and see if they would be willing to swap ya. The best way to get the feel for creating a month’s challenge is just to pick a few of the past months and scroll through. There is no need to be overly creative or thematic with your month but it can add another layer to the creative process. Ultimately, we just like a reason to dig into our collections and seeing others show off their records and telling their stories attached to the albums and music that people share with their posts.

Not afraid to admit that I'm terribly nervous about this, but equally excited! Based on some of the amazingly creative challenges in the past (that I never seem to finish) I'm feeling less than confident that I will deliver a challenging challenge. That said, April will be a perfect month for me - already have some ideas floating around in my head. Thanks so much for thinking of me ❤️

There are no wrong answers. The creativity is appreciated but no one will be disappointed regardless. We are just weirdos on the internet if you are having fun then we will to.

thanks to @Nee Lewman and @Hemotep for the offers, but i'll maybe hang back until next year :)

the academic calendar i work on can be punishing, especially between september and december (it's why i've slowed down both on listening to records and posting, and why i'm so behind on getting some PIFs piffed), so summer would really be the only period when i know i can dedicate the time consistently to keeping up the thread.

i'm also still in year one of fatherhood and i'm not really expecting the load is going to lighten once the kiddo gets into toddlerhood...looking forward to participating though!
