The remake might be the most unintentionally funny movie ever made by a Hollywood studio.

I love me some Nic Cage, but I just can't do it.
I saw the first trailer once and that's as much as I ever want to see.

Nic Cage is acting in a completely different movie than the one that was being made. Like if he had played it straight It woulda been utterly forgettable but bonkers Cage makes it worthwhile.

The remake was directed by one of the most successful directors ever to graduate from my college... the other one I can think of did Napoleon Dynamite... let's just say I didn't exactly go to USC.

Neil LaBute is no slouch In The Company Of Men and The Shape of Things were fun 90s/early 00s indies. I am surprised he was allowed to continue to direct films after Wicker Man though.

I also really like Nacho Libre and Napoleon Dynamite so I am good with Jared Hess too.
