As a non-drummer I don’t notice subtleties . There is a relatively small list of drummers I actually notice. A friend of mine, who’s a drummer swears up and down that the best drummer to him is the session drummer from Sting’s solo albums and I am sure he is probably amazing but as a non-trained drummer that technical prowess is completely wasted on me.I can't believe you guys churned out lists so fast.

Mickey Hart
See, I don’t know who’s doing what when but If I coulda included them both as a single entry I probably would have chosen them over Butch.Bill Kreutzmann (10)
Mickey probably has a wider range of influences and abilities, but when he left the band in the early 70s and Bill was the only drummer, the Dead had some of their best and creative live shows. That gives Bill the nod for me.See, I don’t know who’s doing what when but If I coulda included them both as a single entry I probably would have chosen them over Butch.
