I had a bunch more "/'s," but cleaned it up a little. Probably still unfair to include the VU and Lou Reed solo combo.Nice list! Lotsa “/“ on there.

It’s a made up list on the internet it’s not unfair. Just exploiting a loophole.I had a bunch more "/'s," but cleaned it up a little. Probably still unfair to include the VU and Lou Reed solo combo.
Yeah the RK/JL is a tough one. For me, Rilo Kiley is initially the band that I love, therefore I love Jenny Lewis. Rather than I love Jenny Lewis therefore I love Rilo Kiley. Then Jenny having a great separate solo career gives it the extra points to just make it on the list.I debated the slashes and ended up just going with the element I found more "great" and crediting the artist with all their works. Like Paul Simon on mine is S&G as well, Jenny Lewis is Rilo Kiley, etc.

My made up rule for my made up list was if the band was basically driven by a single artist than a slash would apply to all their projects. but if the band was a group with multiple influences then I had to split them out as their own thing. That’s why I had Wu-Tang and Ghostface as two separate entries but Songs: Ohia/Magnolia Electric Co. as one entry.
Honestly, while most everyone’s list is thoughtful and interesting I enjoy everyone providing insight into how they arrived at their final lists.

not gonna stop me from trying tho...I'm just seeing this...as much as I love lists and rankings, this feels like a herculean task. wow.
I should probably tally this up. Anyone else want to participate? I'll give folks to the end of next week to say they are interested and then I'll set a deadline and then I'll tally (maybewhoknowsprobablynotwhothefuckamikiddingyouguysexpectalotofmeconsideringthatmyfollowthroughforyouguyshasbeenshit)
DO IT!I was thinking of revisiting mine and updating it.

Now, I gotta hook up the SEGA Genesis.
Same. After listening to that 7-hour podcast about PJ Harvey, binging on her music, and ordering her stuff amidst the SOV craziness, she’s probably gone up a few notches for me.I was thinking of revisiting mine and updating it.
