One of the best metal albums I've heard this year. Debut LP Ensemble Under The Dark Sun by Turkish 5-piece, SERPENT OF OLD. Also, one of the best album covers of the year.

I think it's supposed to be "assemble under the dark sun" unless they're calling themselves the under the dark sun ensemble, which seems like such an awkward way to phrase it

I basically share the exact same sentiments here..
- Swans - The Beggar [just like with Squid earlier in the month...I'm left feeling broken. Why, you ask? It should have been in the tops for the week given the RYM hype and in general; Swans are one of my top50 artists. It is enjoyable, but the tracks often do not sport the epic payoffs you would expect from this reunion era found in the group's prior works. I don't know how often I will return to The Beggar compared to The Seer, To Be Kind, or The Glowing Man. Maybe my opinion will turn in a live setting. But for now, I'm just whelmed]
