New Music Friday!

This was my favourite for the week:

Will check it out. Nothing besides that new Kali Uchis has really grabbed yet this week but also haven’t had a lot of time to listen to new stuff. I liked the beats in the new Arrested Development but they weren’t anything special. Even the Qobuz album of the week (Bill Ryder-Jones) just sort of seemed to be there.

On the other hand, I’ve worked my way up to Lipstick Traces by the Manics and am still enjoying the heck out of their discography!

The new Arrested Development album flew completely under all of my radars... gonna have to check that one out once my phone is done playing lullabies!

A surprise new album by Loney Dear dropped today called All Things Go.

I'm a huge fan of his, so this is an amazing surprise. If you are unfamiliar and want to check him out, I'd suggest the tracks "Violent" or "Ignorant Boy, Beautiful Girl." I walked into an Of Montreal concert like a decade ago, and he was opening (I'd never heard of him), and he absolutely blew me away.

[EDIT: I guess it wouldn't have been a surprise if I ever opened Facebook, since info on it there, or read Swedish, as the only instagram mention was a review posted in Swedish]

Put your headphones 🎧 on, close your eyes 👀 and get lost in the music 🎶 of How Lost by The Fauns, their first album in over a decade. The Bristol England-based band which began in the mid-2000s as the project of multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Michael Savage, who was inspired to mix the sound of classic shoegaze circa late 80s and early 90s, and a dose of pop hooks, are back with their third LP and the whispery vocals of signer Allison Garner are still very much an intricate part of the music however this time around, they put pulsating beats and synths at the forefront of their music incorporating fusions of dream pop, industrial, disco and cinematic soundscapes into its moody shoegaze!🕺🪩🎸🔥

I haven't gotten to it yet; this makes me even more curious now.
I won't say more for now. I can't decide if it's weird or I'm old. I asked my daughter to let me know what she thinks. I'll be curious what everyone thinks of it. It's not bad, just weird. In fact there are two songs near the end that will probably be songs I listen to all year long.
