These are some lesser known releases of the current week I'm enjoying.

William Doyle "Great spans of muddy time"

An album for people who like experimental electronic music and beautiful songs. Check out "I need to keep you in my life", "Nothing at all" and "And everything changed (But I feel alright)", I'm enjoying these songs a lot.

Nitin Sawhney "Immigrants"

Collaborations with a number of artists who identify as immigrants, a beautiful album.

Black Honey "Written & directed"

A fun record, energetic Indie rock with psychedelic rock, industrial, and even country influences at times. I've liked it.

Whitehorse "Modern love"

Some beautiful songs moving between folk and rock. Whitehorse’s signature sound is guitar-heavy, harmony-abundant and lyrically deft.

I'm enjoying the William Doyle album. It's quite lovely. As well, I completely forgot about Whitehorse! Thanks for the friendly reminder 🙂

Here's a sleeper pick for tomorrow

Penny & Sparrow - Horse Color Two

Basically, this is a remix album of a slew of songs by Penny and Sparrow. Four or five of the songs are on Spotify now as singles for those interested, but it turns a typically somber sounding, vocally prominent duo into a very cool electronic collaboration machine. The singles remind me a lot of Sam Smith/Disclosure's collab sound wise. Really been enjoying it.

Floating Points x Pharoah Sanders is remarkably beautiful so far. Feel like it just grabbed me right out of my head and smacked me into the moment. It's gorgeous.

Another album I enjoyed today was Renee Reed's debut. VMP has an exclusive of hers available currently.

Not feeling the Floating Points x Pharoah Sanders but glad you're enjoying it!

OH NO is the first Xiu Xiu record in years that I've *enjoyed* though I do wish more of it sounded like Bottle of Rum with Liz Harris and Sad Mezcalita with Sharon Can Etten. Great tracks on a good record.

The Floating Points x Pharoah Sanders record is astounding. Immaculate stuff

Me neither. Glad I heard it before buying. There was a solid reason they never posted clips of any significance and hyped this up so that all the variant cool colored pressings sold out in a flash - it just isn't all that earth shattering, and if clips had been available beforehand, I am willing to bet pre-orders would not have been so frantic.

I was listening last night to Pharoah's Message From Home - what an amazing, mind blowing record. Then the Floating Points - meandering and repetitive. Pharoah not nearly as strong as he once was, and wandering around mostly.

I suppose some will call it 'ethereal' and 'mesmerizing', but honestly, there are far more important Pharoah Sanders records to spend time with, for me anyways.

I thought there was way too much Floating Points, not enough Pharaoh Sanders.
