Can't believe I forgot about Amythyst Kiah! That should be at the top of my list!!
 
I've also been really enjoying Shungudzo's I am not a mother, but I have children. In nearly any other week this year it would've probably been my release of the week, just not in the same week as Amythyst Kiah (or Sons of Kemet or Mdou Moctar or Arlo Parks)
 
I didn't realize Azure Ray had a new album out, that's a throwback of a name. Need to listen to the whole thing but Bad Dream is VERY pretty...

Ok this album is really fucking good 🔥 Her soulful voice is exactly what I needed to hear today 🙌 Very powerful vocals and hooks with hard-hitting lyrics, with a rootsy sound that fuses folk, blues and rock 👏👌

It's funny, there isn't anything that absolutely screams for my attention so I figured it would he a light week for me, but then I started a preliminary list of curiosities and it got huge quickly! Will probably get my final list together tonight or tomorrow night after the kiddo and the wife are in bed.

Barring any surprise announcements or discoveries between now and Friday, I'd say Sault is my most anticipate release.
