New ultrasonic vinyl cleaner in the works: Humminguru

Photo-flo is basically the same concept, right? Seems easier to find around here as I ordered a bottle off amazon.
support your local Photo-flo dealer ffs !!
Ok? I don't even know what the stuff is, or who'd sell it. I have no interest in spending a fortune on it.
It's a solution used in film developing. Any photography supply shop should have it. I got a bottle for $12.99 locally.

You even ultrasonic, bruh?

So, listening to another trouble record now and distilled/ilfotol has made things quite significantly better. Less crackles and small pops and cleaner sound all over, I think.

More checking to come. I also have some new records coming in to clean, so some real A/B testing can be done.

I for sure won't buy a Degritter any time soon.

Oh, and those people on the internet that seem to think a record can be completely clean if you put it under a magnifying glass: There's a place for you at the Steve Hoffman forums!

Shitty in the sense that their assessment of the unit's performance was that it was shitty. That doesn't jibe with the opinions here.
Honestly I would trust the opinions of posters on here before I would look to YouTube. Bad reviews get a lot more clicks than good reviews, and that's what pays the bills for these guys to a large degree. Nothing is going to work miracles, even with existing machines that cost five times the price you still have to do a pre clean with really dirty records, it's simply not going to get them totally clean after one run, nothing will. I have a Okki Nokki and I'll do a clean and rinse cycle on every disc, that's brushing every disc with the motor running clockwise, then counter clockwise for 5 revolutions. And then rinsing the same way, and even then I still have to do a second clean in some cases with really stubborn dirt. And that's with actual physical contact on the disc. With Ultrasonic it's simply not going to get those really really dirty records clean after a single run in many cases.
I don't own a Humminguru but having seen some of the reviews on YouTube, I find them a little disingenuous. Although kudos to @polypetalous for swinging by here and talking with us about what he found with his tests.
