if you guys get the good Petry and he can play a support/2nd pairing role, you guys should be happy.
i think this was a good move for us too, since we’re not at the same developmental place as a team. Shed a bit of salary, got younger and faster if i understand correctly.

The New Jersey Devils signed restricted free-agent goaltender Vitek Vanecek to a three-year deal with an average annual value of $3.4 million, the team announced Tuesday.
New Jersey acquired Vanecek and the 46th overall pick ahead of the second day of the 2022 NHL Draft from the Washington Capitals in exchange for the No. 37 and No. 70 selections.

Matthew Tkachuk has informed the Calgary Flames that he won't sign a long-term deal with the club, sources told The Athletic's Jeremy Rutherford and Hailey Salvian.
The restricted free-agent forward hasn't officially asked for a trade, but a move is now likely to happen.
Tkachuk reportedly provided the Flames with a list of teams he'd sign a long-term contract with, including the St. Louis Blues, Vegas Golden Knights, Florida Panthers, Nashville Predators, and Dallas Stars.

Sucks fir the Flames, hopefully for them they can get a decent return.
About those teams listed, i dont think Florida or Vegas can afford him capwise if they wanted him. Would be such a Vegas move though l.

As much as I would love to him on the Preds, I don't want to give up what it what cost to get him. Plus we don't need another 8 year contract on the books. I mean I don't even know what it would require from the Preds. Probably Fabbro or Carrier or Ekholm, Jeannot, Tolvanen or Tomasino, plus Evangelista and a first.
